We analyse the effect of the non-minimal coupling of the form ξφR/2 on the single field inflation. If the non-minimal coupling is large, it relaxes the constraint on the field self coupling, making it possible to use the Standard Model Higgs field as the inflaton. At the same time, even small non-minimal coupling constant, ξ & 10, brings the usual inflaton with quartic potential in agreement wi...

Abstract: Three new classes of N-body problems of goldfish type are identified, with N an arbitrary positive integer (N ě 2). These models are characterized by nonlinear Newtonian (“accelerations equal forces”) equations of motion describing N equal point-particles moving in the complex z-plane. These highly nonlinear equations feature many arbitrary coupling constants, yet they can be solved b...

Pion-nucleon elastic scattering in the dominant P33 channel is examined in the model in which the interaction is of the form π+N ↔ N, ∆(1232). New expressions are found for the elastic pion-nucleon scattering amplitude which differ from existing formula both in the kinematics and in the treatment of the renormalization of the nucleon mass and coupling constant. Fitting the model to the phase sh...

The Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model is the special case of the renormalized Yukawa model with the compositeness condition. We use it to calculate the effective coupling constants in terms of the compositeness sale (momentum cut off) at the next-to-leading order in 1/N . The next-to-leading correction is too large in the model of scalar composite, while that in the induced gauge theory is reasonably su...

In this paper we fix our attention, on hadron structure, and show that also the strong interaction strength αS, ordinarily called the “(perturbative) coupling–constant square”, can be evaluated within our theory, and found to decrease (increase) as the “distance” r decreases (increases). This yields both the confinement of the hadron constituents, and their asymptotic freedom: in qualitative ag...

We find new non-Abelian flux tube solutions in a model of Nf scalar fields in the fundamental representation of SU(Nc) × U(1) (Nc ≤ Nf ) and study their main properties. Among the solutions there are spinning strings as well as superconducting ones. The solutions exist only on a non trivial domain of the parameter space defined by the ratio between the SU(Nc) and U(1) coupling constants, the ma...

We calculate the O(αs) gluonic operator matrix elements for the twist–2 operators, which contribute to the heavy flavor Wilson coefficients in unpolarized deeply inelastic scattering in the region Q2 ≫ m2, up to the linear terms in the dimensional parameter ε, (D = 4+ε). These quantities are required for the description of parton distribution functions in the variable flavor number scheme (VFNS...

We have investigated the properties of Θ + in nuclei within the framework of relativistic mean field. The coupling constants are educed with quark meson coupling model. There is strong attractive interaction for Θ +-nucleus and Θ + can be bind in nuclei. The depth of optical potential for Θ + in nuclear matter is estimated.

Confining strings are investigated in the (2+1)D Georgi-Glashow model. This is done in the limit when the electric coupling constant is much larger than the square root of the mass of the Higgs field, but much smaller than the vacuum expectation value of this field. The modification of the Debye mass of the dual photon with respect to the case when it is considered to be negligibly small compar...

The status of the calculation of next-to-leading-order QCD corrections to hadronic nal states in deeply inelastic scattering is reviewed, and an overview of the phenomenology (including the measurement of the strong coupling constant and the gluon density via jet rates) is given. We also describe a new universal program (DISASTER++) for the calculation of (2+1)-jet observables.
