We have developed an electrophoretic method to determine the size of a protein—DNA complex using the same binding and electrophoresis conditions as in an electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA). The method is an adaptation of that of Ferguson (1), originally developed to determine the size of native proteins in non-denaturing gel systems. In SDS polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, associati...

rhizomania is the most important disease of sugar beet in iran and some other parts of the world, and plays an essential role in decreasing sugar yield in fields. the best approach to control this disease is to use resistant varieties. tagging the resistance genes in breeding programs, by molecular markers is necessary. in this study, some breeding populations and commercial varieties of sugar ...

of human tumors (1-10, 12-16). Since these extracts un doubtedly contain a spectrum of antigens, normal as well as tumor related, the isolation and purification of the TAA's would facilitate greatly the development of sensitive and specific immunological assays for the diagnosis and man agement of the cancer patient. Attempts to isolate the TAA's with the use of a variety of fractionation proce...

stress is a threatening factor that all living organisms encounter throughout life. depending on the type of stress, there are several mechanisms for keeping body homeostasis to minimize stress effects. brain is an organ which shows high sensitivity to stress conditions. although many studies have shown induced-stress effects on rat embryos, little is known about the mechanisms involved in copi...

a modified pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (pfge) protocol was developed and applied to clinical isolates of mycobacterium tuberculosis complex to reduce the cost of using lyticase. this protocol reduces the expense of pfge typing of mycobacterium tuberculosis complex as it removes the use of lyticase during the spheroplast formation from these bacteria.
