We investigate the Ar(+)-Fe asymmetric charge transfer (ACT) reaction using a combination of plasma diagnostics methods and a kinetic model of the afterglow plasma, which allow monitoring of the temporal evolution of the densities of different species. The iron vapor is created inside a discharge cell by cathode sputtering; its density is measured by atomic absorption spectroscopy. The rate coe...

Because of the large quantities of venous blood required, assays of total iron-binding capacity (TIBC) and serum iron are often omitted in diagnostic tests involving small children. As an alternative to the conventional method of assessing TIBC, we developed a micromethod based on flameless atomic absorption spectrophotometry (flameless AAS). Additionally, the standard microproc#{233}dure for d...

Tricalcium Phosphate Anhydrous Powder typically contains 300 to 400 mg/Kg (w/w) of aluminum. This level can be determined utilizing AAS and standard based on known standards. In this study, we have determined the amount of aluminum metal present in sample of Tricalcium Phosphate Anhydrous Powder using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). The method has high precision and accuracy. The res...

Many technologies based on cells containing alkali-metal atomic vapor benefit from the use of antirelaxation surface coatings in order to preserve atomic spin polarization. In particular, paraffin has been used for this purpose for several decades and has been demonstrated to allow an atom to experience up to 10 000 collisions with the walls of its container without depolarizing, but the detail...

An atomic absorption spectrophotometric (AAS) and a fluorometric method for the measurement of serum calcium were found to be corn-parablein acceptable reproducibility. The recovery figures obtained by the fluorornetric procedure were considerably lower than those given by AAS in the 2-4 mEq./L. range, although recoveriesat higher levels (6 mEq./L.) were acceptable. The average recovery for the...

mercury is a dangerous and an extremely toxic element, which can transfer to the food chain.presence of this element in the atmosphere particularly during the rainy seasons cause soil and environmental pollution, therefore this research will evaluate the transformation of mercury vapor from the atmosphere through precipitation into the soil. in the present study, mercury concentrations were det...

Urine is a liquid waste product of the body. Substances that are ingested and fail to be apsorbed are excreted, solid waste through the intestines, the urine through the kidney and ureter and another fluid from the body through perspiration. Determination of mercury content of urine is not included in routine examinations, but mercury can be present in urine at concentrations that could have se...

A simple and robust on-line sequential insertion system coupled with hydride generation atomic absorption spectrometry (HG-AAS) was developed, for selective As(III) and total inorganic arsenic determination without pre-reduction step. The proposed manifold, which is employing an integrated reaction chamber/gas–liquid separator (RC-GLS), is characterized by the ability of the successful managing...

Pressure dependence of the Ce valence in CeCu(2)Ge(2) has been measured up to 24 GPa at 300 K and to 17 GPa at 18-20 K using x-ray absorption spectroscopy in the partial fluorescence yield. A smooth increase of the Ce valence with pressure is observed across the two superconducting (SC) regions without any noticeable irregularity. The chemical pressure dependence of the Ce valence was also meas...

The results of determination of trace quantites of selenium in various commercial natural fruit juices by three independent methods: atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS), spectrophotometry (UV-VIS) and spectrofluorometry (SF) were presented. The level of selenium in any of the analysed samples of fruit juices did not exceed the WHO recommended level of 0.010 mg/l for drinking water.
