Co-processing of formic acid or carbon dioxide with CH4 (FA/CH4 = 0.01-0.03 and CO2/CH4 = 0.01-0.03) on Mo/H-ZSM-5 catalysts at 950 K with the prospect of kinetically coupling dehydrogenation and deoxygenation cycles results instead in a two-zone, staged bed reactor configuration consisting of upstream oxygenate/CH4 reforming and downstream CH4 dehydroaromatization. The addition of an oxygenate...

A novel, efficient, convenient and environmentally friendly approach for the synthesis of nitriles and imines from primary amines has been developed. Using commercially available red copper as the catalyst, ammonium bromide as the co-catalyst and molecular oxygen as the sole oxidant, nitriles and imines can be afforded in high yields through benzylic oxidation.

Mild-mannered catalyst: a novel procedure to load a MoS(2) co-catalyst onto the surface of silicon under mild-conditions (room temperature, atmospheric pressure, aqueous solution) by a photo-assisted electrodeposition process employing commercially available precursors is reported. The obtained Si-NW@MoS(2) photocathode showed similar catalytic activity for light-driven H(2) generation compared...

Catalysts immobilised in ionic liquids have been analysed using electrospray ionisation ion trap mass spectrometry, which allows identification of the catalyst without contamination from the ionic liquid; additionally, a new ionic liquid containing the Monsanto catalyst as the anionic component, [Rh(CO)2I2]-, has been characterised using the same method.

Synthesis of clean double-walled carbon nanotubes by a catalytic chemical vapour deposition (CCVD) method is reported; the catalyst is a Mg(1 - x)Co(x)O solid solution containing additions of Mo oxide; this MgO-based catalyst can be easily removed, leading to gram-scale amounts of clean carbon nanotubes, 77% of which are double-walled carbon nanotubes.

A palladacyclic precatalyst is employed to cleanly generate a highly active XantPhos-ligated Pd-catalyst. Its use in low temperature aminocarbonylations of (hetero)aryl bromides provides access to a range of challenging products in good to excellent yields with low catalyst loading and only a slight excess of CO. Some products are unattainable by traditional carbonylative coupling.

The paper relates to a catalyst, comprising copperchromium spinel, coated on carrier γ-Al2O3. The effect of preparation conditions on the active component composition and activity behavior of the catalysts is discussed. It was found that the activity of carbon monoxide, DME, formaldehyde and methanol oxidation reaches a maximum at an active component content of 20 – 30 wt. %. Temperature calcin...

Abstract Nickel based nano-catalysts, supported on bimetallic oxide support (i.e. Ni/Al 2 O 3 -MgO) were prepared by the co-precipitation (one step, Catalyst-A) and followed impregnation (two steps, Catalyst-B) techniques separately. The catalysts then tested for dry reforming of methane (DRM) reaction. effect catalyst synthesis technique their performance has been analysed. -MgO nano-catalyst ...

Highly enantioselective phase-transfer alkylation of 3-substituted-2-oxindoles with activated bromomethanes is disclosed with a broad substrate scope by using bicyclic guanidinium as a catalyst and a Lewis acid as the co-catalyst. The alkylation adducts are versatile intermediates to accomplish the syntheses of pyrroloindolines and furoindolines.
