Highly fluorescent multiblock conjugated polymer nanoparticles with folic acid surface ligands are highly effective for bioimaging and in vivo tumor targeting. The targeted nanoparticles were preferentially localized in tumor cells in vivo, thereby illustrating their potential for diagnostic and therapeutic applications.

Coordination polymer particles (CPPs) have recently emerged as a new family of nanoparticles. The potential multifunctionality of these nanosystems and the flexibility of their coordination chemistry open new perspectives in different fields, including medicine. This review outlines the most recent advances in this field, from CPP synthesis to their use as smart drug delivery systems, bioimagin...

In the last few decades, polymeric nanoparticles have been emerged as a most promising and viable technology for targeted controlled delivery of drugs well bioactive compounds such genes, drugs, nucleic acids proteins among other things, in biomedical pharmaceutical applications. They not only improve solubility, bioavailability, circulation time previous medications, but they can also be tailo...

This paper reviews the recently developed techniques in biomagnetics and bioimaging such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and cancer therapy based on magnetic stimulation. A technique of localized and vectorial TMS has enabled us to obtain non-invasive functional mapping of the human brain. The development of new bioimaging technologies such as curre...

Imaging of cellular samples has for several hundred years been a way for scientists to investigate biological systems. With the discovery of immunofluorescence labeling in the 1940’s and later genetic fluorescent protein labeling in the 1980’s the most important part in imaging, contrast and specificity, was drastically improved. Ever since, we have seen a increased use of fluorescence imaging ...

A gold nanoparticle was radiolabeled with (125)I and (111)In and functionalized with an MMP9-cleavable peptide to form a multispectral SPECT imaging contrast agent. Peptide cleavage from the nanoprobe by MMP9 was observed in vitro, and distinct pharmacokinetic properties of the contrast agent were observed between tumors with high or low MMP9 expression.

Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) tags have proven to be excellent labels for tissue bioimaging because of their low interference from biological matrices, high photostability, and possibility using as theranostic agents. Although SERS are widely used the imaging tumors in vivo, practice, contrast tag accumulation strong light can significantly affect detectability. In this work, we stud...

Nanomaterials are proving useful for regenerative medicine in combination with stem cell therapy. Nanoparticles (NPs) can be administrated and targeted to desired tissues or organs and subsequently be used in non-invasive real-time visualization and tracking of cells by means of different imaging techniques, can act as therapeutic agent nanocarriers, and can also serve as scaffolds to guide the...
