Two methods were proposed for determining alpha-particle fluence for radiobiological experiments. The first involved calculating the probabilities of hitting the target for alpha particles emitted from a source through Monte Carlo simulations, which when multiplied by the activity of the source gave the fluence at the target. The second relied on the number of chemically etched alpha-particle t...

We report the observation of new properties primary iron (Fe) cosmic rays in rigidity range 2.65 GV to 3.0 TV with 0.62×106 nuclei collected by Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer experiment on International Space Station. Above 80.5 dependence ray Fe flux is identical He, C, and O fluxes, Fe/O ratio being constant at 0.155±0.006. This shows that unexpectedly belong same class which different from Ne, ...

The potential for aerosol physical properties, such as phase, morphology and viscosity/ diffusivity, to affect particle reactivity remains highly uncertain. We report here a study of the effect of bulk diffusivity of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in secondary organic aerosol (SOA) on the kinetics of the heterogeneous reaction of particle-borne benzo[a]pyrene (BaP) with ozone. The expe...

Transverse mass spectra of protons and deuterons in rapidity window y=1.9{2.3 are presented for 158 A GeV Pb+Pb and 200 A GeV S+S and S+Pb collisions. The inverse slope parameter increases with system size and with particle mass. In the framework of a coalescence model a radius parameter RG can be extracted. Transverse mass dependence of RG is consistent with the 1= p mT decrease of the radius ...

This review summarizes recent progress and developments as well as the most important pitfalls in targeted alpha-particle therapy, covering single alpha-particle emitters as well as in vivo alpha-particle generators. It discusses the production of radionuclides like 211At, 223Ra, 225Ac/213Bi, labelling and delivery employing various targeting vectors (small molecules, chelators for alpha-emitti...

π − π − π − correlations from Pb+Pb collisions at 158 GeV/c per nucleon are presented as measured by the focusing spectrometer of the NA44 experiment at CERN. The three-body effect is found to be stronger for PbPb than for SPb. The twodimensional three-particle correlation function is also measured and the longitudinal extension of the source is larger than the transverse extension.

The feasibility of using the active layer of the colorless LR 115 SSNTD for alpha-particle radiobiological experiments was studied. The track revelation time on the bottom side (the side attached to the polyester base) was much longer than that on the top side (the side not attached to the polyester base) of the active layer so track formation on the top side was more desirable. In relation to ...
