MIMO wireless technology has grown in the last few years. MIMO technology was mainly used for the analysis of channel capacity and also lead to the research for MIMO channel model, Space-Time coding. A signaling technique called Space-Time coding uses the MIMO structure to improve the robustness of communication link. Space–time block codes are designed to achieve the maximum diversity order fo...

New space-time block coding schemes for multiple transmit and receive antennas are proposed. First, the well-known Alamouti scheme is extended to NT = 2m transmit antennas achieving high transmit diversity. Many receiver details are worked out for four and eight transmit antennas. Further, solutions for arbitrary, even numbers (NT = 2k) of transmit antennas are presented achieving decoding adva...

We propose the stacked orthogonal space-time architecture for the quasi-static, multi-input multi-output (MIMO) Rayleigh fading channel where the K transmit antennas are divided into K/2 groups. Each group employs the Alamouti design as the inner code with the indeterminates being uncoded symbols or symbols from some outer code. Successive group interference suppression strategies based on the ...

We investigate space-frequency block coding for OFDM systems with multiple transmit antennas, where coding is applied in the frequency domain (OFDM carriers) rather than in the time domain (OFDM symbols). In particular we consider Alamouti’s code, which was shown to be the optimum block code for two transmit antennas and time domain coding. We show that the standard decoding algorithm results i...

We analyze the impact of a time-varying Rayleigh fading channel on the performance of an Alamouti transmit-diversity scheme. We propose several detection strategies for mitigating the effects of a timevarying channel, and derive expressions for their bit-error probability as a function of the channel correlation coefficient ρ.
