We demonstrate a monolithic integration of WDM light source for silicon photonics by cascade of Al2O3: Er3+ DFB lasers. Simultaneous operation of four channels is achieved with dl/dT = 15.3±0.1 pm/oC temperature dependent wavelength shift. OCIS codes: (130.0130) Integratsed optics; (130.3120) Integrated optics devices; (140.3460) Lasers.

Background: Mast cells (MCs) are essential in innate and adaptive immunity; however, strict activation control is critical to prevent unwanted inflammation. The demand for MC regulation especially important at the skin interface, where MCs remove pathogens but should not react commensal bacteria (CB). This study demonstrates that, microenvironment, mast assume a tolerant phenotype reduce unnece...

Subcarrier multiplexed systems (SCM) have found widespread application in the delivery of RF signals for cable television, remote radar installations, and recently, for microcellular voice transmission.’ For broadband applications where cross talk due to laser nonlinearity must be minimized, composite second-order (CSO) and composite triple-beat (CTB) are used to characterize the optical link p...

A dual-gas photoacoustic spectroscopy (PAS) sensor based on wavelength modulation (WMS) was developed and experimentally demonstrated. Distributed feedback (DFB) laser diodes, emitting at 1512 1653 nm, were utilized as the excitation sources for simultaneous measurement of NH3 CH4, respectively. The PAS signal excited by modulating DFB first longitudinal resonant frequency a cylindrical acousti...

Recently, with the rapid development of precision machining, microvibration measurement is required for manufacturing and installation parts components. In this paper, a self-mixing system π-phase shifted Distributed feedback (DFB) fiber laser introduced. An all-fiberized configuration Er3+-Yb3+ co-doped DFB was used as light source, in which an active Bragg grating (FBG) wrote on fiber. Using ...

This work presents the modeling and thermodynamic analysis of two novel small-scale polygeneration systems that are capable simultaneously converting residual biomass to methanol (MeOH), electricity, heat a CO2-rich stream for agricultural greenhouses. The first system is based on downdraft gasifier, while second relies dual fluidized bed (DFB) gasifier. Both configurations leverage H2, O2, ele...

We propose a curved erbium doped aluminum oxide (Al2O3:Er) distributed feedback (DFB) laser for a reliable integrated photonics light source. The curved structure allows a compensation for radially varying film thickness in Al2O3:Er deposition process. Theoretical results concerning injection locking in complex cavity semiconductor lasers are reported. A general equation for the complex temporal envelope of the optical field is derived. The injection direction influence is taken into account and the difference between front and rear phase noise is pointed out and demonstrated. Numerical results are given concerning the feed-in rate of differe...

In this article we present our latest work on the optimization of mid-infrared quantum cascade laser fabrication techniques. Our efforts are focused on low dissipation devices, broad-area high-power photonic crystal lasers, as well as multi-wavelength devices realized either as arrays or multi-section distributed feedback (DFB) devices. We summarize our latest achievements and update them with ...
