the micro wire electrical discharge machining (micro wire-edm) process is a modern machining process with various applications in manufacturing micro-parts. the recast layer remaining on the machined surfaces is an inevitable complication of this process. this layer can subsequently affect the machined parts performance. to optimize the recast layer in the micro wire-edm of the molybdenum micro...

For spectrophotometric analysis of Hg (II) ions, we have used and compared two membranes preparation methods using different polymer; one is poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) and the other is triacetylcellulose (TAC). In the case of TAC membrane, it was treated with a ligand solution (1.166 × 10-3 mole L-1) in ethylenediamine at the ambient temperature for almost 2-5 min. However, in the case of PVC m...

OBJECTIVE To test the hypothesis that there is no difference in the actions and effectiveness of topical anesthetics TAC Alternate (TAC((a))) and Oraqix in placing temporary anchorage devices (TADs). MATERIALS AND METHODS Each topical anesthetic was placed on opposing sides in the maxilla or mandible using blinded applicators for 3-9 minutes followed by the TAD placement. A total of 21 patien...

In 2007, a consortium of European experts on tacrolimus (TAC) met to discuss the most recent advances in the drug/dose optimization of TAC taking into account specific clinical situations and the analytical methods currently available and drew some recommendations and guidelines to help clinicians with the practical use of the drug. Pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic, and more recently pharmacoge...

active filters have proven to be more effective than passive techniques to improve power quality and to solve harmonic and power factor problems due to nonlinear loads. this paper proposes a control scheme based on the instantaneous active and reactive power. the inverter of this active filter is a three-phase, two-level converter. space vector technique is used as modulators and pattern genera...

New static and dynamic analog-to-digital converter (ADC) testing techniques are revised and discussed. A new test method based on the Histogram Method but using small-amplitude triangular waves with a variable offset is shown to have several advantages over the traditional static test, namely a dramatic reduction in test duration even for highresolution ADCs. The use of Gaussian noise to stimul...

We present our work in optical generation of arbitrarily shaped millimeter-wave electromagnetic waveforms. Through a novel technique, which utilizes tailored optical pulse sequences from a direct space-to-time pulse shaper to drive a high-speed optical-to-electrical converter, we generate amplitude-equalized, arbitrarily phaseand frequency-modulated waveforms at center frequencies approaching 5...

In this work, a zero static error proportional controller for a two-cell DC-DC buck converter is synthesized and analyzed. Under a traditional proportional control scheme, the system presents a constant error of the current supplying the output load. As the proportional feedback gain is increased, the average static error decreases. However, sub-harmonic oscillations and chaotic behavior emerge...

This paper studies the sampled-data H smoothing problem. Using the compact representation of the lifted transfer functions introduced in the companion paper [12], a frequency-domain approach is used to solve the problem in the lifted domain. The resulting estimators have the structure of the cascade of a linear discrete time-invariant smoother and a generalized hold D/A converter.
