Abstruct -Generation of two integer loop filter structures using operational Transconductance Amplifiers (OTA's) and Capicitors (TAC) is presented. A direct block diagram approach is employed to generate the TAC filter structures. The basic filter building blocks consist of a lossless integrator, lossy integrators and three types of summers. They are implemented using OTA's as the active compon...

OBJECTIVE To review our experience with use of the thoracoacromial/cephalic (TAC) system in the free flap reconstruction of complicated head and neck defects. DESIGN Case series. SETTING Tertiary care referral center. POPULATION A consecutive sample of 11 patients requiring free flap reconstruction of head and neck defects using the TAC system for microvascular anastomoses was identified ...

We investigated the effect of OKT3 antibody and interleukin 2 (IL-2) on Tac antigen expression and the proliferation of human peripheral blood mononuclear leukocytes. OKT3 monoclonal antibody at low, nonmitogenic concentrations (25 pg/ml) or IL-2 alone at optimal concentrations (20 U/ml) did not induce IL-2 receptor expression, as measured by Tac antibody or by T cell proliferation. However, co...

This is the first time we participate in TAC. In this report, we present our extractive summarization system on both initial and update summarization tracks of TAC 2010. We introduce an integrated method to generate all summaries. The TAC evaluation of results show that our summarization method is feasible but it has to be improved in future.

Keloid is a cutaneous dermal outgrowth resulting from uncontrolled deposition of collagen and glycosaminoglycan around the wound. The uncontrolled and persistent growth of keloids scar will result in cosmetic disfigurement, functional impairment, and affect the quality of life. Triamcinolone acetonide (TAC) is traditionally employed in treating keloid scars. In this study, we aim to evaluate th...

BACKGROUND Although acute cellular rejection after heart transplantation (HTX) can be controlled by full-dose calcineurin inhibitor (CNI)-based immunosuppressive regimens, cardiac allograft vasculopathy (CAV), nephrotoxicity, and malignancy remain ongoing problems. To evaluate the potential beneficial effects of sirolimus and CNI reduction, we compared de novo low-dose tacrolimus and sirolimus ...

Background Considering the lack of data on the association between habitual dietary intakes of nitrate (NO3-) and nitrite (NO2-) and cardiovascular events, we assessed possible effects of dietary NO3- and NO2-, in the context of total antioxidant capacity (TAC) of the diet, with the risk of cardiovascular (CVD) outcomes. Methods Adult men and women without CVD (n = 2369) were recruited from t...

BACKGROUND Modified-release tacrolimus (TAC) is a new, once-daily oral formulation of the established immunosuppressive agent TAC. This study evaluated long-term patient adherence, as well as safety and efficacy, in stable patients after heart transplantation (HTx) who switched from a conventional twice daily calcineurin inhibitor-based regimen (TAC or cyclosporine A [CsA]) to a once-daily modi...

BACKGROUND Tacrolimus is a widely used calcineurin inhibitor in kidney transplantation. It is available as twice-daily Prograf® (Tac-BID) and once-daily Advagraf® (Tac-OD). Although therapeutically equivalent, some patients require dose adjustments to achieve similar trough concentrations [C0] after conversion. Tacrolimus exposure is affected by ethnicity in the de novo setting but the role of ...

OBJECTIVE Although hypertension is the most common risk factor for thoracic aortic diseases, it is not understood how increased pressures on the ascending aorta lead to aortic aneurysms. We investigated the role of angiotensin II type 1 receptor activation in ascending aortic remodeling in response to increased biomechanical forces using a transverse aortic constriction (TAC) mouse model. APP...
