in this study, preparation of nano-sized gamma alumina with high specific surface area and high yield by thereaction between aluminum nitrate and sodium carbonate, without using any surfactant is reported. bohemite (aluminum oxyhydroxide) was prepared as a precursor by strict control of ph and reaction temperature. the gel produced was purified by washing followed by centrifugation. the specifi...

We report a new and effective method to prepare high activity graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) by a simple ammonia etching treatment. The obtained g-C3N4 displays a high BET surface area and enhanced electron/hole separation efficiency. The hydrogen evolution rates improved from 52 μmol h(-1) to 316.7 μmol h(-1) under visible light.

A porous MOF constructed from a [Cu2(COO)4] secondary building unit, H3L (H3L = [1,1';3',1'']terphenyl-4,5',4''-tricarboxylic acid), and pyrazine ligands features a unique hendecahedron cage-like cavity with good stability and a high BET surface area of 3235 m(2) g(-1), showing good controlled drug release property of ibuprofen over those of anethole and guaiacol.

Low-pressure high-resolution hydrogen adsorption for the metal-organic framework MIL-101 are measured at 19.5 K and pressures below 57 kPa. The BET specific surface area and micropore volume are determined and compared to results from nitrogen adsorption at 77 K. Steps in the hydrogen adsorption isotherm are correlated to the pore structure of MIL-101.

The first tritopic carborane-based linker, H3BCA (C15B24O6H30), based on closo-1,10-C2B8H10, has been synthesized and incorporated into a metal-organic framework (MOF), NU-700 (Cu3(BCA)2). In contrast to the analogous MOF-143, NU-700 can be activated with retention of porosity, yielding a BET surface area of 1870 m(2) g(-1).

Mesoporous carbons were synthesized via both soft and hard template methods and compared to a commercial powder activated carbon (PAC) for the adsorption ability of bisphenol-A (BPA) from an aqueous solution. The commercial PAC had a BET-surface of 1027 m²/g with fine pores of 3 nm and less. The hard templated carbon (CMK-3) material had an even higher BET-surface of 1420 m²/g with an average p...

Tetraphenyladamantane-based porous poly(Schiff base)s with BET surface area (>1000 m(2) g(-1)), CO2 uptake (15 wt%, 273 K/1 bar) and H2 uptake (1.26 wt%, 77 K/1 bar) were synthesized. The structure-directing effect of isomers of phenyl diamines on building porous architecture was investigated.

A new triazine functionalized hexagonally ordered covalent organic polymer (TRITER-1) has been synthesized via the Schiff-base condensation reaction between a tailor made triamine 1,3,5-tris-(4-aminophenyl)triazine (TAPT) and terephthaldehyde. This ordered porous polymer showed a high BET surface area (716 m(2) g(-1)) and an excellent CO2 uptake capacity of 58.9 wt% at 273 K under 5 bar pressure.

The synthesis and successful activation of IRMOF-8 (Zn(4)O(ndc)(3), ndc = naphthalene-2,6-dicarboxylate) is presented. Room temperature synthesis effectively suppresses interpenetration. Although conventional activation under reduced pressure leads to structural collapse, activation by flowing supercritical CO(2) yields a guest-free material with a BET surface area of 4461 m(2) g(-1).

Starting from the graphite oxide silylated by 3-aminopropylmethyldiethoxysilane, porous carbons containing silica with layered structure were obtained. They possessed both microporosities and mesoporosities existing most likely between the carbon layers and the BET surface area reached 226 m/g. These types of carbons were obtained only when the silicon content in the initial silylated graphite ...
