We consider the transitive linear maps on the operator algebra $B(X)$for a separable Banach space $X$. We show if a bounded linear map is norm transitive on $B(X)$,then it must be hypercyclic with strong operator topology. Also we provide a SOT-transitivelinear map without being hypercyclic in the strong operator topology.

In this article, the performance of a hybrid artificial neural network (i.e. scale-free and small-world) was analyzed and its learning curve compared to three other topologies: random, scale-free and small-world, as well as to the chemotaxis neural network of the nematode Caenorhabditis Elegans. One hundred equivalent networks (same number of vertices and average degree) for each topology were ...

Using a standard commercial package, case studies in shape optimisation were used to investigate rules and heuristics for identifying design variables for shape optimisation and incremental updates to the topology of a geometric model from finite element stress results. Topological modifications based on the classical Euler operations were used. The results indicate that intelligent interpretat...

Anisotropic shading techniques can be used for materials like hair and silk. Such materials have a surface consisting of very small fibers having a main direction. Geometrically each fiber can be viewed as a cylinder. Poulin and Fournier proposed an illumination model for such materials using a flat topology only. In the paper a model using a varying topology is described. The varying topology ...

Computing the topology of a network in the Internet is a problem that has attracted considerable research interest. The usual method is to employ Traceroute, which produces sequences of nodes that occur along the routes from one node (source) to another (destination). In every trace thus produced, a node occurs by either its unique identifier, or by the anonymous identifier ′′∗′′. We have earli...

DNA topoisomerases control the topology of DNA. Type II topoisomerases exhibit topology simplification, whereby products of their reactions are simplified beyond that expected based on thermodynamic equilibrium. The molecular basis for this process is unknown, although DNA bending has been implicated. To investigate the role of bending in topology simplification, the DNA bend angles of four enz...

This paper studies the problem of designing a logical topology over a wavelength-routed all-optical network (AON) physical topology. The physical topology consists of the nodes and fiber links in the network. On an AON physical topology, we can set up lightpaths between pairs of nodes, where a lightpath represents a direct optical connection without any intermediate electronics. The set of ligh...
