In some statistical process control applications, the quality of the product is characterized by the combination of both correlated variable and attributes quality characteristics. In this paper, we propose a novel control scheme based on the combination of two multi-layer perceptron neural networks for simultaneous monitoring of mean vector as well as the covariance matrix in multivariate-attr...

three antituberculosis medications are investigated in this work consist of rifampicin, isoniazid and pyrazinamide. the ultra violet (uv) spectra of these compounds are overlapped, thus use of suitable chemometric methods are helpful for simultaneous spectrophotometric determination of them. a generalized version of net analyte signal standard addition method (gnassam) was used for determinatio...

Two-photon imaging of cortical neurons in vivo has provided unique insights into the structure, function, and plasticity of cortical networks, but this method does not currently allow simultaneous imaging of neurons in the superficial and deepest cortical layers. Here, we describe a simple modification that enables simultaneous, long-term imaging of all cortical layers. Using a chronically impl...

One of the ultimate goals of ion chromatography is to determine both anions and cations found in samples with a single chromatographic run. In the present article, recent progress in ion-exclusion/ion-exchange chromatography for the simultaneous determinations of inorganic anions and cations are reviewed. Firstly, the principle and the control for the simultaneous separation and detection of ...

Bainite transformation behavior was monitored using simultaneous measurements of dilatometry and small angle neutron scattering (SANS). The volume fraction of bainitic ferrite was estimated from the SANS intensity, showing good agreement with the results of the dilatometry measurements. We propose a more advanced monitoring technique combining dilatometry, SANS and neutron diffraction.

We use sonification of temporal information extracted from scalp EEG to characterize the dynamic properties of rhythms in certain frequency bands. Sonification proves particularly useful in the simultaneous monitoring of several EEG channels. Our results suggest sonification as an important tool in the analysis of multivariate data with subtle correlation differences.

In this paper we present preliminary results of a turbulence monitoring campaign at the Mount John University Observatory using a bread-board based SCIDAR (SCIntillation Detection And Ranging) system. Simultaneous SCIDAR and generalised SCIDAR data are captured and used to quantify the turbulence at the site. Initial results, including estimates of key turbulence parameters, are presented and d...

When specifying system requirements, we want a language that can express the requirements in the simplest and most intuitive form. Although the MaC system provides an expressive language, called MEDL, it is generally awkward to express certain features like temporal ordering of complex events, timing constraints, and frequencies of events which are inherent in safety properties. MEDL-RE extends...
