A timing optimization algorithm dealing with circuits containing mixed domino and static logic is described. Transistor-level node timing constraints of domino logic is described. The optimization procedure preserves the requirements of maintaining adequate noise margins by constraining the sizing procedure. After sizing, charge-sharing problems are identi ed with a new method and recti ed.

This paper presents a new method for hierarchical characterization of analog integrated circuits. For each circuit class, a fundamental set of performances is defined and extracted topology-independently. A circuit being characterized is decomposed in general subcircuits. Sizing rules of these topology-independent subcircuits are included into the characterization by functional constraints. In ...

For the problem of lot-sizing on a tree with constant capacities, or stochastic lot-sizing with a scenario tree, we present various reformulations based on mixing sets. We also show how earlier results for uncapacitated problems involving (Q,SQ) inequalities can be simplified and extended. Finally some limited computational results are presented.

This paper describes the design of a Sigma-Delta modulator aimed for A/D conversion in xDSL applications, featuring 14-bit@4Msample/s in a 0.35μm mainstream digital CMOS technology. Architecture selection, modulator sizing and cell sizing tasks where supported by a CAD methodology, thus allowing us to obtain a power efficient implementation in a short design cycle.

Variable population sizing techniques are rarely considered in the theory of Genetic Algorithms. This paper discusses a new variant of adaptive population sizing for this class of Evolutionary Algorithms. The basic idea is to adapt the actual population size depending on the actual ease or difficulty of the algorithm in its ultimate goal to generate new child chromosomes that outperform their p...

Substantial information can be gained from digital in-line holography of marine particles, eliminating depthof-field and focusing errors associatedwith standard lens-based imagingmethods. However, for the technique to reach its full potential in oceanographic research, fully unsupervised (automated) methods are required for focusing, segmentation, sizing, and classification of particles. These c...

Decoder design involves choosing the optimal circuit style and figuring out their sizing, including adding buffers if necessary. The problem of sizing a simple chain of logic gates has an elegant analytical solution, though there have been no corresponding analytical results until now which include the resistive effects of the interconnect. Using simple RC models, we analyze the problem of opti...

Hexahedral Mesh Refinement Using an Error Sizing Function Gaurab Paudel Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Master of Science The ability to effectively adapt a mesh is a very important feature of high fidelity finite element modeling. In a finite element analysis, a relatively high node density is desired in areas of the model where there are high error estimates from an initial ...

This chapter intends to give an overview of the literature on dynamic lot-sizing models and stochastic transshipment models. These two types of models are used as a basis for developing models with substitution in the following chapters. Section 2.1 contains a classification of models for dynamic lot-sizing / production planning, and selected models. In Sect. 2.2, we give a brief overview of av...
