Mesoporous silica coated upconverting nanoparticles are loaded with the anticancer drug doxorubicin and grafted with ruthenium complexes as photoactive molecular valves. Drug release was triggered by 974 nm light with 0.35 W cm(-2). Such low light intensity minimized overheating problems and prevented photodamage to biological samples.
Ultrafine ruthenium–titanium oxide catalysts were directly produced using a continuous hydrothermal flow synthesis process and assessed as chloride oxidation catalysts. Selectivity towards chlorine (over oxygen) evolution was shown to generally increase with decreasing ruthenium content. The optimum catalyst was then used to make an anode for a light-driven brine-splitting demonstrator device t...
In this study, a low-frequency instrumentation amplifier (LFIA) integrated with an extended-gate field-effect transistor (EGFET) is presented to realize the simplicity common source (CSA) structure. The proposed EGFET CSA was developed by 0.18-μm CMOS process technology of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC). has low frequency and noise immunity function, it can effectively...
Photocatalysis. In their Communication (e202304474), Markus R. Heinrich et al. demonstrate the linkage of ruthenium photocatalysis with chemiluminescence read-out from a 1,2-dioxetane. The ruthenium-dioxetane system was shown to be useful for quantification optical input by inverse correlation output.
Ruthenium(III) chloride-catalyzed acylation of a variety of alcohols, phenols, and thiols was achieved in high yields under mild conditions (room temperature) in the ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ([bmim][PF(6)]). The ionic liquid and ruthenium catalyst can be recycled at least 10 times. Our system not only solves the basic problem of ruthenium catalyst reuse, but ...
Bismuth vanadate (BiVO(4)), which is a visible-light responsive heterogeneous photocatalyst, was combined with homogeneous ruthenium complexes to increase the overall photocatalytic reactivity for water oxidation with a one-electron oxidant, [Co(III)(NH(3))(5)Cl](2+). Photoinduced electron transfer from the excited state of ruthenium(II) complexes to [Co(III)(NH(3))(5)Cl](2+) affords ruthenium(...
A terpyridine ruthenium (II) complex containing a substituted and an unsubstituted terpyridine ligand was synthesized, and its luminescence properties were studied in a solid-state single-layer light-emitting electrochemical cell. The obtained devices emitted light of a very deep red color (CIE, x = 0.717 y = 0.282) at low external applied bias. It is the first example of an electroluminescence...
Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions currently represent a major concern. Accordingly, the electrochemical reduction of CO2 is a reaction of major relevance and also of great challenges. Considering the redox potentials required for reducing CO2, multi-electron-transfer, multiproton reactions are the most viable pathways for driving CO2 reduction. [2] Nonetheless, catalysts must be employed to overco...
The first proof that heterotrophic, non-photosynthetic bacteria can fix carbon dioxide was presented in 1935 by Wood and Werkman (15). This investigation introduced the first experimental evidence that carbon dioxide serves as a building material in synthetic reactions of all forms of life, whether simple or complex. The synthesis of citric acid from oxalacetate by avian tissue was shown by Kre...
Ruthenium N719 is a well-known material used as the dye in commercial dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) devices. However, it poses risks to human health and environment over time. On other hand, titanium dioxide (TiO2) has low electron mobility high recombination losses when photoanode this photovoltaic technology device. In addition, using harms health. As an alternative sensitizer compensate o...
