This article contains a survey on results relating to Gram’s Law and the distribution of the zeroes of the Riemann zeta-function. It is shown that Gram’s Law and the Rosser Rule fail a positive proportion of the time. A weaker version of Gram’s Law — herein called the Weak Gram Law — is shown to be true a positive proportion of the time.

Let G be a classical Lie group and P a maximal parabolic subgroup. We describe a quantum Pieri rule which holds in the small quantum cohomology ring of G/P . We also give a presentation of this ring in terms of special Schubert class generators and relations. This is a survey paper which reports on joint work with Anders S. Buch and Andrew Kresch.

Data mining is one of the significant topics of research in recent years. Association rule is a method for discovering interesting relations between variables in large databases. Support and Confidence are the two basic parameters used to study the threshold values for each database. In this paper, an overall survey of the algorithms implementing the multidimensional and quantitative data is pr...

1 RuleML is a family of XML languages whose modular system of schemas permits high-precision (Web) rule interchange. The family’s top-level distinction is deliberation rules vs. reaction rules. In this paper we address the Reaction RuleML subfamily of RuleML and survey related work. Reaction RuleML is a standardized rule markup/serialization language and semantic interchange format for reaction...

Economists have reached a consensus that an independent central bank could improve its policy efficiency by following a monetary policy rule. One of the important rules is McCallum rule where that requires central banks to target the growth rate of nominal GDP using the monetary base as its instrument. One of the features of the McCallum rule uses the monetary base rather than the interest rate...

Background: Ankle injuries are one of the most common complaints of patients presenting to emergency departments (ED). The Ottawa ankle rules (OAR) was introduced to help physicians to decide who may require x-ray for blunt injuries. The present study aimed at validating the four steps weight-bearing rule of OAR as a sole criterion. Methods: This prospective observational study was conducted on...

Data mining is the analysis step of the "Knowledge Discovery in Databases" process, or KDD. It is the process that results in the discovery of new patterns in large data sets. It utilizes methods at the intersection of artificial intelligence, machine learning, statistics, and database systems. The overall goal of the data mining process is to extract knowledge from an existing data set and tra...

All neocortical areas receive inputs from and project back to the thalamus. It is often said that the corticothalamic projections are organized in a way that reciprocates the spatial distribution of thalamocortical pathways. The present review examines to what extent this rule of reciprocity is actually supported by the most recent neuroanatomical data, particularly those relating to the centra...

A prospective survey of 174 consecutive patients in whom plain radiographs of the optic canals were requested by ophthalmologists disclosed no cases in which these films made a positive contribution to management. It is suggested that as a general rule this radiographic examination has no useful role.
