Fusarium culmorum is a soilborne fungal plant pathogen that causes foot and root rot and Fusarium head blight on small-grain cereals, in particular on wheat and barley. We report herein the draft genome sequence of a 1998 field strain called FcUK99 adapted to the temperate climate found in England.

Here, we present the draft genome of Bacillus velezensis 3A-25B, which totaled 4.01 Mb with 36 contigs, 3,948 genes, and a GC content of 46.34%. This strain, which demonstrates biocontrol activity against root rot causal phytopathogens in horticultural crops and friendly interactions in roots of pepper plantlets, was obtained from grassland soil in Zacatecas Province, Mexico.

Infection of etiolated wheat seedlings with a root rot fungus Bipolaris sorokiniana caused a strong deviation in the fatty acid composition of their total lipids from the control. The deviation occurred at the expense of that lipid group, which predominates in a given plant organ (shoots or roots), and peak deviation coincided with the onset of a severe inhibition of growth.

Phytophthora nicotianae is a common and destructive pathogen of numerous ornamental, agronomic and horticultural crops such as tomato, tobacco and citrus. Three monobranched C13 alcohol alkoxylate non-ionic surfactants were evaluated for in vitro inhibitory activity against the different asexual structures of P. nicotianae. The same surfactants, labelled MBA1301, MBA1303 and MBA1306, were teste...

BACKGROUND This study aimed to develop a biocontrol system for ginseng root rot caused by Fusarium cf. incarnatum. METHODS In total, 392 bacteria isolated from ginseng roots and various soils were screened for their antifungal activity against the fungal pathogen, and a bacterial isolate (B2-5) was selected as a promising candidate for the biocontrol because of the strong antagonistic activit...

OBJECTIVE With a microcomputed tomography (microCT) imaging device, we aimed to quantitatively evaluate root canal fillings after commonly used endodontic procedures and also tested the suitability of microCT for this purpose. MATERIALS AND METHODS Eighty single roots were instrumented and obturated with gutta-percha and Tubli-Seal. They were divided into 4 groups of 20. The Hand groups were ...

Monitoring of pathogenic strains of Fusarium oxysporum (Fox), which cause wilt and rots on agricultural and ornamental plants, is important for predicting disease outbreaks. Since both pathogenic and non-pathogenic strains of Fox are ubiquitous and are able to colonize plant roots, detection of Fox DNA in plant material is not the ultimate proof of an ongoing infection which would cause damage ...

Armillaria root rot is a serious disease, chiefly of woody plants, caused by many species of Armillaria that occur in temperate, tropical and subtropical regions of the world. Very little is known about Armillaria in South America and Southeast Asia, although Armillaria root rot is well known in these areas. In this study, we consider previously unidentified isolates collected from trees with s...

abstract a total of 270 bacillus strains were isolated from bulk soil and rhizospheric of cucumber in the tonekabon fields (mazandaran province). antifungal activity of bacillus strains was evaluated against pythium aphanidermatum and p. ultimum using dual culture method. 13 strains with more than 10 mm inhibition zone were selected for further study. morphological, physiological, biochemical a...

In the study, 58 synthetic wheat lines and 6 bread varieties were used as material. Synthetic investigated for resistance to root rot under field conditions. laboratory conditions, 1 ml (1x106 spores/ml) of collar disease was inoculated into each tube at junction stem plant soil, week after seed sowing. terms rot, which is one important problems in Thrace region, it determined that showed prope...
