The title compound, C(20)H(22)Cl(2)N(3)O(4)PS, was synthesized by the reaction of N-(4-methoxy-benzyl-idene)-5-(2,4-dichloro-phenyl)-1,3,4-thia-diazol-2-amine and diethyl phosphite. In the crystal, inter-molecular C-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules.

Reaction of Li/Cl phosphinidenoid pentacarbonyltungsten(0) complexes 2a,b (R = CH(SiMe3)2, Cp*) with bifunctional phosphite-substituted ketone 3 yielded tungsten complexes 4a,b having a novel mixed-valence polycyclic P,C-cage ligand with a P–P bond. DFT calculations provide insight into an unusual product formation pathway.

The reaction between benzyl amines, triethyl orthoformate, and diethyl phosphite affords either bisphosphonic (compound 1) or N-benzylaminobenzylphosphonic (compound 2) acid depending on the reaction conditions. The final output of the reaction can be manipulated by the choice of reaction conditions, particularly the molar ratio of substrates.

A palladium-catalyzed reaction of 2-iodoarylcarbodiimide, isocyanide, and phosphite leads to 4-imino-3,4-dihydroquinazolin-2-ylphosphonates in moderate to good yields. Three bonds are formed in a one pot procedure and the tandem process includes nucleophilic attack, isocyanide insertion, and C-N coupling.

South-western Australia harbours a global biodiversity hotspot on the world's most phosphorus (P)-impoverished soils. The greatest biodiversity occurs on the most severely nutrient-impoverished soils, where non-mycorrhizal species are a prominent component of the flora. Mycorrhizal species dominate where soils contain slightly more phosphorus. In addition to habitat loss and dryland salinity, a...

Abstract The ascomycete fungus Microdochium nivale is one of the most damaging pathogens cool season turfgrass. Prevention and recovery from infection costly to many sports facilities each year. In recent years, use chemical plant protectants has been restricted turfgrass managers have increasingly sought alternative measures for disease control. phosphite shown be effective in reducing M. symp...
