A recently proposed warped top-condensation model generally predicts a light radion φ , with a mass of a few GeV or less, whose interactions are suppressed by a scale of order 100 TeV. In this talk, we present existing constraints and potential signals from the process b → sφ , in the context of such a model. Astrophysical bounds, applicable to very light radions, are also briefly discussed.

We start with a very brief description of the principal events in the history of our subject. About 1870 M.Noether discovered [N] that the group of birational automorphisms of the projective plane BirP, which is known also as the Cremona group CrP, is generated by its subgroup AutP = AutC/C and any quadratic Cremona transformation τ , which in a certain system of homogeneous coordinates can be ...

We show that in all dimensions d ≥ 3, there exists an asymmetric convex body of revolution all of whose maximal hyperplane sections have the same volume. This gives the negative answer to the question posed by V. Klee in 1969.

The ability to monitor training is critical to the process of quantitating training periodization plans. To date, no method has proven successful in monitoring training during multiple types of exercise. High-intensity exercise training is particularly difficult to quantitate. In this study we evaluate the ability of the session rating of perceived exertion (RPE) method to quantitate training d...

The method to determine the molecular velocity distribution in steady reaction in homogeneous gas phase with negligible reaction heat is formulated, and especially the case where one of the reacting molecules is very light is studied in detail. In this case the perturbation of the distribution function by the chemical reaction becomes most remarkable, and the expansion by the Sonine's polynomia...

In this study, 10 normal volunteers and 5 sports-trained paraplegics with lesions between T6 and L2 were studied whilst walking with axillary crutches and knee-anlde-foot orthoses. All subjects walked at their preferred speed on a figureof- eight track. Normal subjects also walked at slower and faster speeds. Oxygen consumption, heart rate and rating of perceived exertion were measured. In...

We show that the gravitino contribution to (g−2)μ is finite in many popular supergravity models, including no-scale supergravity and string and M-theory models. This contribution is greatly enhanced for very light gravitino masses, and leads to new upper bounds on the ratio of the smuon to the gravitino mass.

We introduce and study the random "locked" constraint satisfaction problems. When increasing the density of constraints, they display a broad "clustered" phase in which the space of solutions is divided into many isolated points. While the phase diagram can be found easily, these problems, in their clustered phase, are extremely hard from the algorithmic point of view: the best known algorithms...

The presence of another person can influence task performance. What is, however, still unclear is whether performance also depends on what this other person is doing. In two experiments, two participants (A and B) jointly performed a Simon task, and we selectively manipulated the difficulty of the task for participant A only. This was achieved by presenting A with 90% congruent trials (creating...

The Higgs sector of the Standard Model (SM) with one right-handed neutrino per family is systematically analyzed. In a model with intergenerational independent mixings between families, we can account for very light neutrinos acquiring Majorana masses radiatively at the first electroweak loop level. We also find that in such a scenario the Higgs coupling to the light–heavy neutrinos and to the ...
