A Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is a dynamic wireless network that can be formed without the need for any pre-existing infrastructure in which each node can act as a router. Due to bandwidth constraint and dynamic topology of mobile ad hoc networks, multipath supported routing is a very important research issue. This paper proposes a Network Codingbased Priority-packet Scheduler Multipath routi...
Problem statement: Routing and security are the main challenges for ad hoc networks due to dynamic topology as well as resource constraints. A designed protocol must provide scalable routing with better security. Lack of any central coordination and shared wireless medium makes them more vulnerable to attacks than wired networks. And also resource constraints such as limited energy and size als...
Energy efficiency and mobility robustness are two of the main performance metrics to be addressed when designing any routing protocol for underwater sensor network (UWSN). Energy efficiency leads to a prolonged network life time, while mobility robustness ensures high and stable delivery ratio. Most of the routing strategies designed for UWSN require a full knowledge of the three dimensional lo...
Although the near-far effect has been considered to be the major issue preventing CDMA from being used in ad-hoc networks, in this paper, we show that the near-far effect is not a severe issue in inter-vehicle networks for safety driving support, where packet transmissions are generally performed in the broadcast manner. Indeed, the near-far effect provides extremely reliable transmissions betw...
The mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) are a class of infrastructure-less self-organizing networks consisting of mobile devices communicating with each other over peer-topeer wireless links. Due to their distinctive features of robustness, self-organization, quick deployment and reconfiguration, MANETs hold great promises for many important application scenarios, like disaster relief, battle field...
Robust and efficient data delivery in vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) with a high mobility is a challenging issue due to unstable wireless links and dynamic topology changes. In this vehicular environment, the exchanges of topology information and discoveries of routing paths on an end-to-end basis are not desired, because the network topology changes rapidly and the information is out-of-da...

Wireless mesh networks (WMNs) have emerged as a key technology for next-generation wireless networking. This paper focuses on a variety of routing protocols that are used in wireless mesh networks and identify the performance of these routing protocols. The performance is done with regards to load balancing, packet delivery ratio, congestion, network overhead, throughput and mobility of nodes.
This paper proposes reliability improvements to the Cluster Based Routing Protocol (CBRP). Estimation of link reliability to facilitate alternate route redundancy together with the use of adaptive power control is introduced. Network performance is improved in terms of packet delivery ratio, average delay and overheads while at the same time operating at lower transmission power.
