Reversible computation is one of the most promising emerging technologies of the future. The usage of reversible circuits in computing devices can lead to a significantly lower power consumption. In this paper we study reversible logic circuits consisting of NOT, CNOT and 2-CNOT gates. We introduce a set F (n, q) of all transformations Zn2 → Z n 2 that can be implemented by reversible circuits ...

We experimentally demonstrate an all-optical binary counter composed of four semiconductor optical amplifier based all-optical switching gates. The time-of-flight optical circuit operates with bit-differential delays between the exclusive-OR gate used for modulo-2 binary addition and the AND gate used for binary carry detection. A movie of the counter operating in real time is presented.

Reversible logic is being suggested as a possibility for overcoming potential power loss and heat dissipation problems that the computing industry may soon be at a loss to overcome. However, for reversible logic to be a solution we must have techniques for synthesizing function descriptions to reversible circuits. This paper presents an improved ESOP-based reversible logic synthesis approach wh...

We present new algorithms to synthesize exact universal reversible gate library for various types of gates and costs. We use the powerful algebraic software GAP for implementation and examination of our algorithms and the reversible logic synthesis problems have been reduced to group theory problems. It is shown that minimization of arbitrary cost functions of gates and orders of magnitude are ...

In this paper, we propose a new reversible data hiding scheme without distortion of stego image. In the proposed scheme, Toffoli gate is used in embedding and extraction procedures. This gate provides a distortionless of stego image because it has a characteristic of self-inverse. In the experimental results, the embedding capacity and PSNR of the proposed technique are greater than the previou...

We introduce a Reversible Programmable Gate Array (RPGA) based on regular structure to realize binary functions in reversible logic. This structure, called a 2 * 2 Net Structure, allows for more efficient realization of symmetric functions than the methods shown by previous authors. In addition, it realizes many non-symmetric functions even without variable repetition. Our synthesis method to R...

Reversible logic plays an important role in emerging low power designs and quantum computing. This paper presents an efficient way to realize reversible arithmetic circuits especially targeting toward reversible arithmetic logic unit (RALU). In literature for reversible logic, not a significant advancement is found in integrating both logical and arithmetical functions, commonly known as arithm...

We have successfully fabricated 0.1 μm gate GaAs MESFETs using a low cost process. The result was obtained from optical lithography, resist etching, and ion-implantation technologies based on Single Resist layer Dummy gate (SRD) process. The novel feature of the SRD process is forming a sub-quarter micron gate with conventional optical lithography. We have obtained a 0.18 μm gate using this pro...
