Anomalous diffusion is applicable in environments that are not locally homogeneous, such as human brain tissue. In such environments the model of restricted diffusion commonly employed in the analysis of diffusion magnetic resonance data is not valid. Anomalous diffusion displays a nonlinear time dependence for the mean-squared displacement, and provides a prediction of a stretched exponential ...

Freezing action always results in great damage to the pore structure and fractal characteristics of freezing–thawing soft soil. Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) can help collect data describe microstructure frozen–thawed This paper conducted a series nuclear tests interpret effect freezing duration, pressure temperature on soil’s micro-pore characteristics. The size distributions (PSDs) tested ...

We report achieving enhanced nuclear magnetization in a magnetic resonance force microscope experiment at 0.6 tesla and 4.2 kelvin using the dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) effect. In our experiments a microwire coplanar waveguide delivered radiowaves to excite nuclear spins and microwaves to excite electron spins in a 250 nm thick nitroxide-doped polystyrene sample. Both electron and proton...

This paper is the first multi-scale characterization of the fluidize-dried gum extracted from the fresh fruits of the plant Abelmoschus esculentus. It describes the physical, thermal, sorptional and functional properties of this natural gum. Elemental analysis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), particle size analysis, X-ray powder diffraction (XPRD), thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA), differe...

Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) imaging was used to evaluate pituitary and juxtasellar tumors in 37 patients representing a wide range of pathology. The value of the multiplanar facility of NMR is emphasized in providing accurate volumetric information and establishing the topographical relation of tumors to adjacent structures. Current limitations of the method and possible future development...

We investigated a patient with coronary arteriovenous fistula (CAVF) by two-dimensional echocardiography (2-DE), cardiac Doppler, cardiac catheterization and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). These investigations clearly showed the abnormal vascular structures. NMR is another valuable noninvasive and safe method of confirming the presence of a CAVF.

Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) imaging has been used to visualise a localised area of demyelination in the dorsal pons of a patient who presented with an unusual disorder of eye movements, namely, the one-and-a-half syndrome. Judged clinically the patient made a nearly complete recovery, but little change was apparent in the NMR image six months later.

We report experimental implementation of discrete Fourier transformation(DFT) on a nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR) quantum computer. Experimental results agree with theoretical results. Using the pulse sequences we introduced, DFT can be realized on any L-bit quantum number in principle. Two cases of orbital myositis are reported in which precise identification of the involved muscle was possible with the use of surface coil nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) imaging. A clinical response to oral steroids in both cases coincided with a marked reduction in the abnormal thickening of the muscles as seen on the NMR images.
