Acylation of anisole with 2-phenylbutanoic acid derivatives, over zeolite catalysts, gives the corresponding 4-acyl derivatives with high regioselectivity. In an analogous way, 2,3-dihydrobenzofuran reacts with acid anhydrides or chlorides in the presence of catalytic quantities of zeolites to give the corresponding 5-acyl-2,3-dihydrobenzofurans. The zeolite can be recovered, regenerated and us...

Microcontact printing (mCP) is used to immobilize dyes and peptides asymmetrically, by a "peptide coupling" reaction, on monolayers of zeolite L crystals in the contact area between the stamp and the surface of the monolayer. Chemically patterned surfaces of monolayers of zeolite L crystals are obtained by using patterned stamps with different ink solutions. Additional printing of functionalize...

The aim of the investigations was to evaluate benefits of the directed transport system—a nanocomposite, based on cisplatin and magnetite combined with local action of constant magnetic field on the tumor, in experiments in vivo in animals with transplantable Guerin carcinoma. Animals were divided into 5 groups according to the type of agent. We showed that nanocomposite in combination with sta...

Abstract-In-situ chemical polymerization was used to synthesize PPy/ TiO2 nanocomposite. The nanocomposite was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) to ensure the crystallite size, functional groups and morphology of the polymer nanocomposite. The band gap of th...

Through the microwave assisted fast synthesis method, Zinc Magnesium Oxide nanocomposite was prepared. Zinc Magnesium Oxide nanocomposite heated at 500oC was used for further structural, optical and antibacterial studies. The Debye Scherrer equation was used to calculate the average particle size of the nanocomposite. The optical characterization of the oxide nanocomposite was carried out by UV...

In this work, the antimicrobial property of nanocomposite prepared by loading of silver nanoparticle onto activated carbon (AgNP-AC) was studied. The silver nanoparticles were synthesized biologically from the culture Enterobacter aerogenes and loaded onto the activated carbon. The nanoparticle and nanocomposite were characterized by UV-vis, scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction st...

Nanotechnology, through nanomedicine, allowed drugs to be manipulated into nanoscale sizes for delivery to the different parts of the body, at the same time, retaining the valuable pharmacological properties of the drugs. However, efficient drug delivery and excellent release potential of these delivery systems may be hindered by possible untoward side effects. In this study, the sub-acute toxi...

The strong structural integrity of polymer nanocomposite is influenced in the moist environment; but the fundamental mechanism is unclear, including the basis for the interactions between the absorbed water molecules and the structure, which prevents us from predicting the durability of its applications across multiple scales. In this research, a molecular dynamics model of the epoxy/single-wal...

The properties of the bactericidal action of silver zeolite as affected by inorganic salts and ion chelators were similar to those of silver nitrate. The results suggest that the contact of the bacterial cell with silver zeolite, the consequent transfer of silver ion to the cell, and the generation of reactive oxygen species in the cell are involved in the bactericidal activity of silver zeolite.

Following the synthesis of aligned single-wall carbon nanotubes in the channels of AlPO4-5 zeolite single crystals, we present the first X-ray diffraction and diffuse scattering results. They can be analysed in terms of a partial filling of the zeolite channels by nanotubes with diameter around 4Å. The possible selection of only one type of nanotube during the synthesis, due to the constraints ...
