growing demands and requires of high data rate systems cause significant increase of high frequency systems for wideband communication applications. as mixers are one of the main blocks of each receivers and its performance has great impact on receiver’s performance; in this thesis, a new solution for ku-band (12-18 ghz) mixer design in tsmc 0.18 µm is presented. this mixer has high linearity a...
This thesis presents a noise-canceling LNA based on a complementary common-gate commonsource combination. It provides active balun functionality with a single-ended input that is power matched to the antenna and a differential current output driving a passive mixer. By allowing class AB operation for both outputs, the LNA achieves a high compression point and its outputs remain balanced under i...
Persistent control of a transmon qubit is performed by a feedback protocol based on continuous heterodyne measurement of its fluorescence. By driving the qubit and cavity with microwave signals whose amplitudes depend linearly on the instantaneous values of the quadratures of the measured fluorescence field, we show that it is possible to stabilize permanently the qubit in any targeted state. U...
The aim of this work is to introduce a novel statistical technique for quantifying the concentration field uniformity liquid-liquid mixing process within micro-scale chaotic pipeline. For illustration, microscale mixer in which inlet direction parallel unit designed by using pipeline with Baker map. Meanwhile, non-uniformity coefficient method adopted quantificationally instead qualitatively es...
Numerical solvers based on population balance equations (PBE) coupled with flow equations are a promising approach to simulate liquid/gas–liquid dispersed flows which are very commonly observed in the nature and in industrial processes. Our aim is to discuss the challenges for the numerical solution of the coupled equation systems and to present detailed numerical recipes whose main ingredients...
A 1.9 GHz (RF) down conversion mixer has been designed in a standard 0.25μ CMOS process. The local oscillator (LO) frequency is at 1.85 GHz. The mixer provides a voltage gain of 2.133 dB while drawing a current of 5.2 mA from a 2.5 V supply. The IIP3 of the mixer is 5.123 dBm and the -1dB compression is at -5.83 dBm. Detailed design process and simulation results are presented in this report.
There are two main approaches to realize a receiver front-end. However, they have drawbacks when fully-integrated on a single chip. One direction to realize this front-end is to use a transformer that can convert the single RF output of the LNA to the differential input of mixer [4]. Another way to do this is to use a narrow-band two stage tuned LNA [5] that can provide a differential output. H...
A CMOS quadrature down-converter for a direct-conversion receiver of 5.15-5.825GHz wireless LAN is described. The down-converter consists of two sub-harmonic mixers, for I and Q channels, and an LO generation network. In order to prevent the low-frequency component generated by the even-order distortion of the transconductance stage from being leaked to the mixer output, transconductance and sw...
