Asymmetrical bending waves can be obtained by reactivating demembranated sea urchin spermatozoa at high Ca2+ concentrations. Moving-film flash photography shows that asymmetrical flagellar bending waves are associated with premature termination of the growth of the bends in one direction (the reverse bends) while the bends in the opposite direction (the principal bends) grow for one full beat c...

Spur dike is one of the hydraulic structures used in rivers to protect river banks. In this paper, flow pattern around a T-shaped spur dike which is located in a 90◦ bend and different amounts of submersion has been studied using Flow-3D. Numerical results have been compared with experimental results and have been analysed.

In this paper, we present a general scheme to produce interactive and static orthogonal drawings of graphs. As opposed to most known algorithms, we do not restrict ourselves to graph with maximum degree 4, but allow arbitrary degrees. We show here how, with one speciic implementation of the scheme, we can obtain an m+n 2 m+n 2-grid for all simple connected graphs without nodes of degree 1. Furt...

A piecewise linear simple curve in the plane made up of k+1 line segments, each of which is either horizontal or vertical, with consecutive segments being of different orientation is called a k-bend path. Given a graph G, a collection of k-bend paths in which each path corresponds to a vertex in G and two paths have a common point if and only if the vertices corresponding to them are adjacent i...

We report a very low-loss hybrid silicon waveguide circuit consisting of straight rib sections with a propagation loss of 0.272±0.012 dB/cm and compact photonic wire bends of 5μm radius with a loss of 0.0273±0.0004 dB/90 o bend.
