A new, further attenuated measles vaccine, developed by propagation of Edmonston B measles virus in the chorioallantoic membrane in ovo, has been clinically evaluated in children and found to compare favorably with a commercially available product. The vaccine is prepared in chick embryo tissue culture and appears to possess noteworthy stability at 4 C.

Stability studies play a critical role in assuring product quality at all points in the vaccine life cycle and havea major impact on the success of immunization programs worldwide. The purpose of stability study isdetermination of the vaccine quality under the variety of environmental factors and to establish a re-testperiod or a shelf life and recommended storage conditions. In this study thre...

BACKGROUND The persistence of antibodies against measles, mumps, and rubella induced by the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine and the kinetics of antibody decline after the second MMR vaccine dose were studied in the same cohort for 20 years. METHODS Measles, mumps, and rubella antibodies were measured by enzyme immunoassay in 20-year follow-up serum samples (n= 183) of twice-vaccinated ind...

BACKGROUND Cytokines are key regulators of measles vaccine humoral and cellular immunity. Single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) that are associated with differences in cytokine levels should also influence measles vaccine-induced immunity. METHODS We genotyped 118 measles-mumps-rubella-vaccinated subjects for SNPs from 6 cytokine genes (interleukin [IL]-2, IL-4, IL-10, IL-12A, IL-12B, and in...
