Recent Research: Slice knots. A knot K ⊂ S is called slice, if it bounds a smooth 2-disk in D. In higher odd dimensions Levine [Le69], [Le69b] found a computable algebraic method of determining whether a knot is slice or not. In 1975 Casson and Gordon [CG86] first found examples which show that the high dimensional results (which relied on the Whitney trick) can not be extended to the case of o...
Abstract The lifetime of tungsten cathodes used in plasma spray torches is limited by processes leading to a loss cathode material. It was reported the literature that mechanism their erosion evaporation. A model ionization layer developed study diffusive transport evaporated atoms and ions produced due electron impact background argon plasma. shown Stefan–Maxwell equations do not reduce Fick l...
We reduce the two phase Stefan problem with kinetic to a system of nonlinear Volterra integral equations of second kind and apply Newton's method to linearize it. We found product integration solution of the linear form. Sufficient conditions for convergence of the numerical method are given and their applicability is illustrated with an example.

Several years ago, Stefan Pokorski, Manfred Münz and us outlined a program for calculation of the NLO QCD corrections to the weak radiative B̄ meson decay B̄ → Xsγ. Very recently, just before the 60th birthday of Stefan Pokorski, this program has been formally completed. In the present paper, we summarize the existing results and discuss perspectives for further improvement of the accuracy of the...
