This note presents and discusses a number of properties a measure of individual deprivation should satisfy. The axioms we propose are necessary and sufficient to characterize Yitzhaki’s index of deprivation making the structure of the index more transparent.  2000 Elsevier Science S.A. In this paper, considers the usage of intuitionistic fuzzy numbers in decision making. The values and ambiguities of the membership degree and the non-membership degree for trapezoidal intuitionistic fuzzy number are defined as well as the value-index and ambiguity-index.
