• Prop. 8. If g imperfectly dominates f, then hβ(f,g) imperfectly dominates f. ... and yield a hierarchy of manipulability and efficiency. • Prop. 9./10. Given f SP, g manipulable and weakly less varying than f, g imperfectly dominates f, 0≤β<β‘≤1, then 1. hβ‘(f,g) is intensely and strongly more manipulable than hβ(f,g) 2. hβ‘(f,g) imperfectly dominates hβ(f,g). ... which preserve PSP, are comp...

Continuum models are often used to study large finite assignment economies. We show that in the canonical assignment problem without transfers, the continuum model can have very different qualitative properties than large finite markets. The problem is driven by the failure of local non-satiation inherent in no-transfer assignment.

Given a flight schedule, which is a set of flight segments with specified departure and arrival times, and a set of aircraft:, the fleet assignment problem is to determine which aircraft type should fly each flight segment. The objective is to maximize revenue minus operating costs. In the basic fleet assignment problem considered by Hane et al. (1995) a daily, domestic fleet assignment prohlem...

An L(2, 1)-labeling of a graph G is a function f from the vertex set V (G) into the set of nonnegative integers such that | f (x) − f (y)| ≥ 2 if d(x, y) = 1 and | f (x) − f (y)| ≥ 1 if d(x, y) = 2, where d(x, y) denotes the distance between x and y in G. The L(2, 1)-labeling number, λ(G), of G is the minimum k where G has an L(2, 1)-labeling f with k being the absolute difference between the l...

School choice has presented economists with opportunities to study and design student assignment systems, which in turn have helped push forward the frontiers of mechanism design theory. In this survey, we discuss the student assignment problem in school choice, related issues, assignment mechanisms and new developments in the theory and practice of mechanism design within the context of school...

Robust object tracking is required by many vision applications, and it will be useful for the motion analysis of moving object if we can not only track the object, but also make clear the corresponding relation of each part between consecutive frames. For this purpose, we propose a new method for moving object extraction and tracking based on the exclusive block matching. We build a cost matrix...
