The recognition of Hindi Characters is of two types, one is simple characters recognition that comprises of consonants and vowels and second is compound characters recognition. The compound characters are those which are formed by joining of two or more consonants. So the recognition of compound characters is more difficult in comparison to that of simple characters due to their structure. This...
We sketch and illustrate an approach to machine translation that exploits the potential of simultaneous correspondences between separate levels of linguistic representation, as formalized in the LFG notion of codescriptions. The approach is illustrated with examples from English, German and French where the source and the target language sentence show noteworthy differences in linguistic analysis.
objectives: language development is often very slower in hearing impaired children compared with their normal peers. hearing impairment during childhood affects all aspects of speech production and language acquisition. it seems that hearing impaired people suffer from language and speech impairments such as production of complex linguistic structures. the purpose of this study is to determine ...
We investigate the relationship between prosodic phrase boundaries in terms of pausing and the linguistic structure on morphosyntactic and discourse levels in spontaneous dialogues as well as in read aloud speech in Swedish. Both the speakers’ production and the listeners’ perception of pausing are considered and mapped to the linguistic structure.
In this paper some algebraic structures for linguistic fuzzy models are defined for the first time. By definition linguistic fuzzy norm, stability of these systems can be considered. Two methods (normed-based & graphical-based) for stability analysis of linguist fuzzy systems will be presented. At the follow a new simple method for linguistic fuzzy numbers calculations is defined. At the end tw...
We investigate the relationship between prosodic phrase boundaries in terms of pausing and the linguistic structure on morpho-syntactic and discourse levels in spontaneous dialogues as well as in read aloud speech in Swedish. Both the speakers’ production and the listeners’ perception of pausing are considered and mapped to the linguistic structure.
Linguistic variables are reviewed and some aspects of the original definition revisited, showing that they provide a first formal frame to do computing with words in a “narrow sense”. A two-levels hierarchy of languages is discussed in order to move to simple cases of computing with words in natural language, supported by linguistic variables.
We present an XML annotation format (MEANING Annotation Format, MAF) specifically designed to represent and integrate different levels of linguistic annotations and a tool that provides flexible access to them (MEANING Browser). We describe our experience in integrating linguistic annotations coming from different sources, and the solutions we adopted to implement efficient access to corpora an...
We will attempt to show how human performance limitations on various types of syntactic embedding constructions in Germanic languages can be modelled in a relational network linguistic framework. After arguing against centralized data stores such as pushdown stacks and queues, we will demonstrate how interconnections among levels of linguistic structure can account for many of the psycholinguis...
