The two main features of the commented paper are: the class of systems considered and the approach since theproblemsare rather standard – belongingtowhatwe would like to call linear quadratic theory – any theory dealing with a couple ‘‘linear equationþ ‘integral’ quadratic index’’. The most common case of such a couple is represented by ‘‘linear differential equationþ integral quadratic index’’...

in this paper, we solve a linear system of second-order boundary value problems by using the quadratic b-spline nite el- ement method (fem). the performance of the method is tested on one model problem. comparisons are made with both the analyti- cal solution and some recent results.the obtained numerical results show that the method is ecient.

Four 28-d experiments were conducted to determine the standardized ileal digestible (SID) valine (Val) to lysine (Lys) ratio required for 26- to 46- (Exp. 1), 49- to 70- (Exp. 2), 71- to 92- (Exp. 3), and 94- to 119-kg (Exp. 4) pigs fed low CP diets supplemented with crystalline AA. The first 3 experiments utilized 150 pigs (Duroc × Landrace × Large White), while Exp. 4 utilized 90 finishing pi...

This thesis deals with the stability analysis of switched linear systems. Such systems are characterised by a mixture of continuous dynamics and logic-based switching between discrete modes. This system class appears in a large variety of control systems and has a wide field of applications in the modern industrial society. While the application of switched control systems can be very beneficia...

We derive closed-form solutions for the linear-quadratic (LQ) optimal control problem subject to integral quadratic constraints. The optimal control is a non-linear function of the current state and the initial state. Furthermore, the optimal control is easily calculated by solving an unconstrained LQ control problem together with an optimal parameter selection problem. Gradient formulae for th...

We present a method of solving an linear quadratic regulator problem approximately in the case of discrete-time systems. This method leaves parameters as symbols in the evaluation function. We introduce the concept of the approximate linear quadratic regulator problem. We also propose a computation method to solve the problem. A numerical example of the approximate linear quadratic regulator pr...

This paper deals with systems described by constant coefficient linear partial differential equations (nD-systems) from a behavioral point of view. In this context we treat the linear quadratic control problem where the performance functional is the integral of a quadratic differential form. We look for characterizations of the set of stationary trajectories and of the set of local minimal traj...

2 Duality, central trajectories and We develop an interior-point technique for soiving quadratic dynamical systems programming problem in a Hilbert space. As an example we consider an application of these results to the linear-quadratic control problem with linear inequality constraints. It is shown that the Newton step in this situation is basically reduced to solving the standard linear-quadra...

In this paper a unified approach via block-pulse functions (BPFs) or shifted Legendre polynomials (SLPs) is presented to solve the linear-quadratic-Gaussian (LQG) control problem. Also a recursive algorithm is proposed to solve the above problem via BPFs. By using the elegant operational properties of orthogonal functions (BPFs or SLPs) these computationally attractive algorithms are developed....
