We study the dispersive properties of the wave equation associated with the shifted Laplace–Beltrami operator on Damek–Ricci spaces, and deduce Strichartz estimates for a large family of admissible pairs. As an application, we obtain global well–posedness results for the nonlinear wave equation.

A stable second kind integral equation formulation has been developed for the Dirichlet problem for the Laplace equation in two dimensions, with the boundary conditions specified on a collection of open curves. We consider the inverse scattering problem for the radiative transport equation. We show that the linearized form of this problem can be formulated in terms of the inversion of a suitably defined Fourier-Laplace transform. This generalizes a previous result obtained within the diffusion approximation to the radiative transport equation.
