Similar to muscles, the intestine is also insulin resistant in obese subjects and subjects with impaired glucose tolerance. Exercise training improves muscle insulin sensitivity, but its effects on intestinal metabolism are not known. We studied the effects of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT) on intestinal glucose and free fatty acid upta...

AIM To determine the impact of low volume high-intensity interval training (LVHIIT) and continuous low to moderate-intensity exercise training (CLMIT) on cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk and health outcomes in cancer survivors. METHODS Sedentary cancer survivors (n = 75, aged 51 ± 12 year) within 24 months of diagnosis, were randomised into three groups for 12 wk of LVHIIT (n = 25), CLMIT (n...

Recently, high-intensity aerobic interval training was shown to be more effective than continuous moderate-intensity exercise for improving maximal aerobic capacity and endurance in patients with coronary heart disease. However, patients with exercise-induced ischemia were not included in those studies. We present the acute cardiopulmonary responses of a 67-yr-old man with stable angina pectori...

Introduction: Neuropathic pain is a chronic pain that occurs as an injury to neuronal cells and abnormality in nervous and immune systems function. Also diabetic neuropathy diseases accompany with variety of pain syndromes such as allodynia and hyperalgesia. Thus, the aim of the present study was to investigate the chronic effects of incremental activity in the form of endurance training o...

Background and purpose: The present study aimed at exploring the effects of eight-week high intensity interval training (HIIT) program on gene expression factors involved in cholesterol reverse transport in liver tissue of ischemic rats. Materials and methods: In this study, 28 Wistar Rats (250 ±20 g) were randomly divided into four groups: Ischemia (n=8), Placebo (n=8), Training (n=8), and Is...

We hypothesized that high-intensity aerobic interval training results in a greater beneficial adaptation of the heart compared with that observed after low-to-moderate exercise intensity. This is supported by recent epidemiological, experimental, and clinical studies. Cellular and molecular mechanisms of myocardial adaptation to exercise training are discussed in this review.

increasing the intensity of physical activity is associated with reduced risk of cardiovascular diseases and this may be the reason why the blood lipoprotein profiles improve. so the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of six weeks of a high intensity interval training (hiit) on lipid profile of sedentary young men. for this purpose, 18 sedentary young men voluntarily participated i...

Introduction: The aim of this study was investigating the effect of 4 weeks of high intensity interval training with curcumin supplement on the gene expression of collagen I, II and SMAD/3 in the myocardium of male obese rats with type 2 diabetes. Methods: In this experimental study, 35 male diabetic rats were divided in to 5 groups of seven; normal control, diabetic control, curcumin+diabeti...
