Novel benzimidazolo indane-1, 3-dione derivatives were synthesized and characterized by IR, HNMRand Mass spectral analysis. Biological screening of synthesized compounds allowed the identification of some novelanthelmintic agents bearing indane-1, 3-dione and benzimidazole scaffolds. Some of these compounds exhibited promisinganthelmintic activities.

BACKGROUND In order to increase the efficient allocation of soil-transmitted helminth (STH) disease control resources in the Philippines, we aimed to describe for the first time the spatial variation in the prevalence of A. lumbricoides, T. trichiura and hookworm across the country, quantify the association between the physical environment and spatial variation of STH infection and develop pred...
The present study was performed to know the infection status of intestinal helminths in a most common species of field mice, Apodemus agrarius, from 2 southern regions of Korea. Total 133 and 103 mice were collected by the mouse trap in Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do and Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do, respectively, from July 2005 to June 2006. The small intestine of each mouse was resected and longit...
