We examined the effect of p-substituents in p-substituted cinnamyl methyl ethers and 1-(p-substituted phenyl)allyl methyl ethers with CSI, and confirmed that the CSI reaction of allyl ethers (p-substituted ethers) is a competitive reaction of S(N)i and S(N)1 mechanism according to the stability of the carbocation. And, the only terminal allylic amine was obtained through the migration reaction ...

Magnetic nanoparticle (MNP)-supported crown ethers were successfully prepared and evaluated as catalysts for solid-liquid phase-transfer reactions; the catalytic activities of the MNP-supported crown ethers were not inferior to those of non-supported crown ethers; after the reactions, the catalysts could be readily separated using an external magnet and reused without significant loss of cataly...

An efficient and chemoselective cleavage of silyl ethers (primary, secondary and aromatic) by using catalytic quantities of trimethylsilyl bromide (TMSBr) in methanol is reported. A wide range of alkyl silyl ethers such as TBS, TIPS, and TBDPS can be chemoselectively cleaved in high yield in the presence of aryl silyl ethers. The deprotection of silyl esters was also achieved employing catalyti...

Polyglycerols are a class of multifunctional polymers obtained from the polymerization glycidol and its derivatives. Unlike poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG), which is most common polyether, polyglycerols can exhibit many functionalities on their side chains be renewable resources, mainly glycerol. Hereby, this study will focus glycidyl carbamates, new monomers readily available glycerol carbonate, c...

The gold(I)-catalyzed carboalkoxylation of alkynes to form indanone derivatives from readily available ortho-acetylenic benzylic ethers is described. Importantly, the gold(I)-catalyzed rearrangement of enantioenriched benzylic ethers proceeds with chirality transfer, thus providing a practical method for the enantioselective synthesis of indenyl ethers.
