Here, a predator-prey model with Hassell-Varley type functional responses is studied. Some sufficient conditions are obtained for the permanence and global asymptotic stability of the system by using comparison theorem and constructing a suitable Lyapunov functional. Moreover, an example is illustrated to verify the results by simulation.
The functional response is a key element in and food webs. Classical models consider it a many mechanisms can lead to predator depen importance of this dependence. Identificatio response from real data is therefore a challeng test if typical ecological predator prey time se and process error, can give some informatio Working with artificial data (for which the fu with moderate noise levels, ide...
We present a method for charge mixing in self-consistent density functional calculations which uses the Thomas-Fermi-von Weizsäcker equation to solve implicitly for the charge density response function to the potential. This approach has significant improvements over existing methods, particularly for inhomogeneous systems with large unit cells which commonly suffer from poor convergence due to...
In this paper, the semi–ratio–dependent predator-prey system with nonmonotonic functional response on time scales is investigated. By using the coincidence degree theory, sufficient conditions for existence of periodic solutions are obtained. Keywords—Semi–ratio–dependent, predator–prey system, coincidence degree, time scales.
This paper discusses a predator-prey system with Holling-(n + 1) functional response and the fractional type nonlinear diffusion term in a bounded domain under homogeneous Neumann boundary condition. The existence and nonexistence results concerning nonconstant positive steady states of the system were obtained. In particular, we prove that the positive constant solution (?̃?, Ṽ) is asymptoticall...
The functional response of the tiger beetle Megacephala carolina carolina L. (Coleoptera: Carabidae) was determined on adult twolined spittlebug, Prosapia bicincta (Say) (Hemiptera: Cercopidae), and fourth instars of fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E. Smith) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae), in single-prey and two-prey systems. In the laboratory,M. carolina carolina demonstrateda type II functi...
In this paper, we consider a nonautonomous multispecies competition predator-prey system with Holling’s type III functional response and prey supplement. It is proved that the system is uniformly persistent under some conditions. Furthermore, we show that the system has a unique positive periodic solution which is globally asymptotically stable.
In this paper, a food chain model with Holling type II functional response on time scales is investigated. By using the Mawhin’s continuation theorem in coincidence degree theory, sufficient conditions for existence of periodic solutions are obtained. Keywords—Periodic solutions; food chain model; coincidence degree; time scales.
Due to the extensive existence of time delay for natural population, it is necessary to take the effect of time delay into account in forming a biologically meaningful mathematical model. In view of this, a delayed predator-prey system with Holling type-IV functional response and impulsive dispersal between two patches is formulated. By using comparison theorem of impulsive differential equatio...
We evaluated a treatment for elopement maintained by access to stereotypic door play. First, we conducted a functional analysis of elopement that produced undifferentiated results. Next, we conducted an assessment in which we evaluated the relation between elopement and door play. Results suggested a functional relation between the 2 behaviors (i.e., elopement was maintained by contingent acces...
