Light up, light up: The fluorimetric detection of different biomacromolecules is accomplished with 3-(4-N,N-dimethylaminophenylnaphtho[1,2-b]quinolizinium as a fluorescent probe. This molecule shows light-up effect in the presence DNA, RNA and bovine serum albumin (BSA) emission energies, intensities, lifetimes. These effects may be used for differentiation between cell compartments.

A sensitive and practical colorimetric test for oxidized carbon nanotubes (CNTs) is described. The assay is based on direct labeling with the commercially available fluorescent dye thionin acetate (THA).
