Lymphoma of the salivary gland accounts for 5% of cases of extranodal lymphoma and 10% of malignant salivary gland tumours. Most primary salivary gland lymphomas are B marginal zone lymphomas arising on a background of sialadenitis associated with autoimmune disorders such as Sjorgen's syndrome. Primary T cell lymphoma of the salivary gland is rare. This report describes a case of primary T cel...
Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most common subtype of non-Hodgkin's and represents a heterogeneous entity. One-third DLBCL arises from extranodal organs its prognosis often varies with regard to sites involved. Molecular features are important elucidate differences in clinical features, predict disease prognosis, improve effective targeted therapeutic strategies. Extranodal DLBCLs...
An unusual case of an isolated histioproliferative lesion arising from the suprasellar region is described. The presence of lymphophagocytosis suggested that this represented an extranodal intracranial form of sinus histiocytosis with massive lymphadenopathy.
Primary extranodal, extralymphatic Hodgkin lymphomas (PEEHLs) are a rare occurrence. When they are encountered, they become diagnostic challenges. We are describing the uniqueness of a case of PEEHL affecting the mandible with his early response to the available chemotherapy.
Objective: To compare the efficacy and safety between chemotherapy radiotherapy as main therapy of Extranodal Marginal Zone Lymphoma (EMZL). Method: Literature searching was conducted using PubMed, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, ProQuest, SpringerLink. All studies that met inclusion exclusion criteria were categorized based on level evidence. The data demographic patients, staging disease, type...
We investigated age-related EBV(+) B-cell lymphoproliferations in the Western population. The clinical features, histology, immunophenotype, EBV-encoded RNA in situ hybridization, and clonality by PCR of T-cell receptor gamma and immunoglobulin genes were categorized in 122 EBV(+) lesions as follows: (1) reactive lymphoid hyperplasia; (2) polymorphic extranodal or (3) polymorphic nodal lymphopr...
Diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL), currently the most common type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), is an aggressive B cell neoplasm that typically presents in older adults as a rapidly enlarging mass. The enlarging mass typically represents a lymph node, although extranodal disease can occur in a significant percentage (40%) of cases. The most common extranodal sites of involvement include th...
Objectives. Non-Hodgkin Lymphomas (NHLs) are tumours of the lymphoid system which originate from lymph nodes or extranodal lymphatic tissue. Since they represent a heterogeneous group of diseases, it is very important to determine prognostic factors apart from staging and identification of the patients with poor prognosis. The objective of our study is to investigate clinical characteristics, t...
BACKGROUND The lymphoreticular system plays a major role in both the innate and adaptive immune responses. This study reviews retrospectively cases of lymphoreticular diseases seen at a tertiary institution in Nigeria. MATERIALS AND METHODS This is a retrospective study in which biopsies from the bone marrow, spleen, lymph nodes and extranodal lymphoid tissues reported within a period of 16 y...
