a simple, rapid and low-cost scanner spectroscopy method for the glucose determination by utilizing glucose oxidase and cdte/tga quantum dots as chromoionophore has been described. the detection was based on the combination of the glucose enzymatic reaction and the quenching effect of h2o2 on the cdte quantum dots (qds) photoluminescence.in this study glucose was determined by utilizing glucose...
BACKGROUND The hepatopulmonary syndrome (HPS) is defined as the triad of liver disease, arterial deoxygenation, and pulmonary vascular dilatation. The reported prevalence of HPS in cirrhotic patients varies between 4% and 19%, and various threshold values defining arterial deoxygenation have been used and recommended previously. However, it is not known how the prevalence of HPS differs using d...

Herein we report a one-pot deoxygenation protocol for primary and secondary alcohols developed via the combination of the Garegg-Samuelsson reaction, visible light-photoredox catalysis, and flow chemistry. This procedure is characterized by mild reaction conditions, easy-to-handle reactants and reagents, excellent functional group tolerance, and good yields.
The hepatopulmonary syndrome occurs in subjects with chronic liver disease and/or portal hypertension who develop intrapulmonary vasodilation resulting in arterial deoxygenation. Clinical and basic science studies investigating the pathophysiology of HPS are presented. A diagnostic algorithm is provided using contrast echocardiography, the lung perfusion scan, and pulmonary angiography. Medical...
materials and methods the expression of hyaluronidase antigenic fragments was optimized using iptg concentration, time of induction, temperature, culture, and absorbance of 0.6-0.8-1 at 600 nm. afterwards, the expressed proteins were purified and the enzymatic activity was assessed by turbid metric method. results data indicated that maximum protein is produced in od = 0.8, 0.5 mm isopropyl β-d...
thermoplastic starch (tps) materials present several advantages to the plastic industry andwhen blended with other materials they can exhibit improved mechanical and moisturesensitivity properties compared to pure tps materials. further investigations on tps: pvablends are of particular interest due to their excellent compatibility and improved properties suchas tensile strength, elongation, to...
enzymatic extract preparation from pseudomonas aeruginosa km110 under accession no. hq730879 with lipase activity (0.3 u/ml), was used to perform enzymatic hydrolysis pretreatment of a synthetic dairy wastewater with 1000 mg/l total fat content. the pretreatment was optimized for 48 h hydrolysis time, at 45æ% c with 10% v/v enzymatic extract. the biological treatment of synthetic dairy wastewat...
Deep ocean deoxygenation inferred from proxies has been used to support the hypothesis that a lower atmospheric carbon dioxide during glacial times was due an increase in strength of ocean’s biological pump. This relies on assumption surface oxygen (O2) is equilibrated with atmosphere such any O2 deficiency observed deep waters result organic matter respiration, which consumes and produces diss...
