The electric charged particles optimization (ECPO) technique is inspired by the interaction (exerted forces) between electrically particles. A developed version of ECPO called MECPO suggested in this article to enhance capability searching and balancing exploitation exploration phases conventional ECPO. To let search agent jumps out from local optimum avoid stagnation proposed MECPO, three diff...

This paper describes Bar-Ilan’s submissions to RTE-5. This year we focused on the search pilot, and enhanced our RTE-4 system to address two issues introduced by this novel setting: candidate texts search and document-level discourse analysis. Our system achieved the highest score on the search task, and may be viewed as a first step towards fully addressing this challenging task.

Monolayer group-VI transition metal dichalcogenides have recently emerged as semiconducting alternatives to graphene in which the true two-dimensionality is expected to illuminate new semiconducting physics. Here we investigate excitons and trions (their singly charged counterparts), which have thus far been challenging to generate and control in the ultimate two-dimensional limit. Utilizing hi...

We introduce a natural feature tracking approach that facilitates the tracking of rigid objects for an on-site assembly assistance system. The tracking system must track multiple circuit boards without added fiducial markers, and they are manipulated by the user. We use a common SIFT feature matching detector enhanced with a probability search. This search estimates how likely a set of query de...

Previous research offers conflicting suggestions about whether "high-priority" verbal stimuli such as an individual's own name or emotionally charged words automatically grab attention and/or can be detected without the usual capacity limitations. Nine experiments investigated this issue, using visual search through displays of words. In speeded search tasks, the subject's own name was detected...
