Between September 1990 and March 1995, 189 patients were treated with high-dose-rate endobronchial brachytherapy. Most patients (70%) presented with either recurrent or persistent symptomatic endobronchial tumor after standard therapy. A minority of the patients (12%) had small endobronchial tumor and were unfit for surgical resection or radiotherapy. Treatment was delivered weekly and consiste...

The objective of the study was to describe a safe and effective treatment option for endobronchial complications after solid organ transplantation. A retrospective analysis was performed in a tertiary-care university hospital. The use of bronchoscopic argon plasma coagulation (APC) for the treatment of endobronchial lesions was studied in five solid organ transplant recipients. Four patients pr...

Endobronchial aspergillosis or actinomycosis associated with broncholithiasis is extremely rare. Here, we describe two cases of endobronchial aspergillosis and actinomycosis associated with broncholithiasis. The patients underwent pulmonary resection due to massive hemoptysis. These cases reveal that a bronchiolith can potentially induce endobronchial fungal or bacterial infection, even in immu...

Benign neoplasms of the endobronchial tree are uncommon, and among them lipomas are the most uncommon. Endobronchial lipoma is histologically benign in character but may cause bronchial obstruction. We describe a 47-year-old woman with an endobronchial lipoma arising from the right main bronchus which was treated as asthma for 4 years.

We report the case of a patient with rheumatoid arthritis who presented with endobronchial nodules. Endobronchial biopsy showed a large B cell lymphoma. Non-Hodgkin lymphoma rarely involves the endobronchial tree, and is typically treated with systemic chemotherapy, but in this case additional treatment with argon plasma coagulation was used for local control of the disease.
