TRATAMIENTO ENDODÓNTICO A UNA PIEZA CON ALTERACIÓN MORFOLÓGICA DENS IN DENTE REPORTE DE CASO CLÍNICO
This paper aims to give an account of the Latin naming of the different types of teeth by reviewing relevant historical and contemporary literature. The paper presents etymologies of Latin or Greek teeth names, their development, variants and synonyms, and sometimes the names of their authors. The Greek names did not have the status of official terms, but the Latin terms for particular types of...
Dens invaginatus is a developmental anomaly resulting from epithelial invagination of the tooth crown before calcification. Endodontic treatment of teeth affected by dens invaginatusmay be difficult and complex due to aberrant anatomy. Combined orthograde and surgical approaches for successful treatment of dens invaginatus are effective. This report describes the successful treatmentand results...
Dens invaginatus is a developmental anomaly that results in an enamel-lined cavity intruding into the crown or root before the mineralization phase. It typically affects permanent maxillary lateral incisors, central incisors, and premolars. This paper describes the root canal treatment of Oehlers' type II dens invaginatus in maxillary left lateral incisors. A 16-year-old boy presented to the Fa...
A patient with multiple anomalies of the maxillary teeth, including shovel-shaped incisors, talon cusp, bilateral dens invaginatus and bilateral peg-shaped supernumerary incisors is reported. The patient also exhibited Carabelli's cusp on both maxillary first molars. No developmental syndrome was identified. This very unusual combination of anomalies has not been reported previously.
Dens invagination (DI) is a developmental abnormality of teeth which frequently results in a complex internal anatomy of the root canal system. DI type 3 is an anomaly characterized by infolding of enamel and dentin extending into the root apex. This may present difficulties when forming a diagnosis and treatment plan. Many treatment modalities have been presented in case reports for DI type 3,...
this report describes the non-surgical treatment of an invaginated maxillary lateral incisor with two fused roots. the mesial root had a c-shaped canal, while the distal one had a type iii dens invagination. cone-beam computed tomography (cbct) was used to help with the diagnosis and treatment decision making. clinical and radiographic follow-up revealed satisfactory periapical repair and absen...
