This report documents the first presentation of seven human cases of poisoning with a compound used in poultry feed. The clinical presentation was a toxic polyneuropathy with rhabdomyolysis and acute renal failure. We describe the protracted clinical course of one of these victims along with a tabulated description of the clinical course and relevant laboratory investigations of the others.

Forty-seven nursing students identified as at risk for failure on the NCLEX licensure exam took a commercially available exit exam before and after participation in a remedial test-taking course. Results indicated that participation in the course contributed to a significant increase (p < .001) in exit exam scores.

We report a case of bacterial endocarditis due to Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae in a homeless man with no animal exposure. His course was complicated by an allergic reaction to ampicillin, urinary bladder infection, respiratory failure, and acute kidney injury.
