A designer looking at a drawing sometimes notices things not originally intended. Conversely, not all implications of a design action are considered before each depiction action is taken. This paper describes an approach to understanding and reproducing this behaviour based on a situated interaction with an external representation.

We report the synthesis of a series of bivalent 1,2,3-triazole linked galactopyranosides as potential inhibitors of cholera toxin (CT). The inhibitory activity of the bivalent series was examined (ELISA) and the series showed low inhibitory activity (millimolar IC(50)s). Conversely, the monomeric galactotriazole analogues were strong inhibitors of cholera toxin (IC(50) = 71-75 μM).

SAP7 of Candida albicans is induced after vaginal infection of mice. Conversely, virulence during vaginal infection was not affected in a Deltasap7/Deltasap7 mutant strain. Only a partial virulence phenotype was detectable after intravenous injection. In conclusion, SAP7 expression does not correlate with C. albicans virulence in mice.

NBTI of the HfSiOx/TiN gate stack is investigated as a function of the dielectric thickness. It is shown that as the thickness of the HfSiOx layer is reduced below 20Å, the NBTI mechanism approaches the mechanism that induces H-reaction diffusion. Conversely, for thicker HfSiOx dielectrics, a combination of H-reaction-diffusion and charge detrapping from the bulk HfSiOx contribute to NBTI.
