Recently, the research towards Brodatz database for texture classification done at considerable amount of study has been published, the effective classification are vulnerable towards for training and test sets. This study presents the novel texture classification method based on feature descriptor, called spatial cooccurrence with discrete shearlet transformation through the LPboosting classif...

PURPOSE Patients with typical clinical features of retinitis pigmentosa were found to have the atypical electroretinographic finding of a negative waveform to a bright flash in the dark-adapted state. The full-field electroretinogram (ERG) was studied in seven such patients to understand better the pathophysiology. METHODS Rod ERGs were isolated using blue and red flash stimuli in the dark-ad...

Light and electron microscopy revealed that there are both rods and cones in the retina of the eel Anguilla rostrata. The rods predominate with a rod to cone ratio of 150:1. The spectral sensitivity of the dark-adapted eyecup ERG had a peak at about 520 nm and was well fit by a vitamin A2 nomogram pigment with a lambdamax = 520 nm. This agrees with the eel photopigment measurements of other inv...

The mechanism of contraction in motile models of teleost retinal cones has been examined by using N-ethylmaleimide (NEM)-modified myosin fragments (NEM-S-1 and NEM-heavy meromyosin [HMM]) to prevent access of native myosin to actin filaments during reactivation of contraction. In the diurnal light/dark cycle, retinal cones of green sunfish (Lepomis cyanellus) and bluegill (lepomis macrochirus) ...

BACKGROUND Inherited retinal degenerations (IRDs) preferentially affecting cone photoreceptor function are being considered for treatment trials aiming to improve day vision. The purpose of the current work was to develop cone-specific visual orientation outcomes that can differentiate day vision improvement in the presence of retained night vision. METHODS A lighted wall (1.4 m wide, 2 m hig...

This note is concerned with the generalization of the continuous shearlet transform to higher dimensions. Quite recently, a first approach has been derived in [4]. We present an alternative version which deviates from [4] mainly by a different generalization of the shear component. It turns out that the resulting integral transform is again associated with a square-integrable group representation.

It is known that the Continuous Wavelet Transform of a distribution f decays rapidly near the points where f is smooth, while it decays slowly near the irregular points. This property allows the identification of the singular support of f . However, the Continuous Wavelet Transform is unable to describe the geometry of the set of singularities of f and, in particular, identify the wavefront set...

Identifying and characterizing flame fronts is the most common task in the computer-assisted analysis of data obtained from imaging techniques such as planar laser-induced fluorescence (PLIF), laser Rayleigh scattering (LRS), or particle imaging velocimetry (PIV). We present Complex Shearlet-Based Ridge and Edge Measure (CoShREM), a novel edge and ridge (line) detection algorithm based on compl...
