We describe a case of the filarial dance sign (FDS) in the epididymal region of a 22-year-old migrant worker from India who presented with a tender right scrotal swelling. Sonographic examination revealed multiple cystic lesions in the paratesticular region. The FDS was visualized within one of the cystic lesions. FDS is diagnostic of lymphatic filariasis in the appropriate clinical context.

The less mucoid strain of Brucella canis or M- strain is used for the serologic diagnosis of canine brucellosis. While this strain is avirulent in dogs, we report the case of clinical brucellosis that developed in a laboratory worker a few days after handling live M- cells for antigen production.

We describe a PCR-confirmed case of Plasmodium knowlesi infection with a high parasitemia level and clinical signs of severe malaria in a migrant worker from Malaysian Borneo in the Netherlands. Investigations showed that commercially available rapid antigen tests for detection of human Plasmodium infections can detect P. knowlesi infections in humans.
