4 Humans are increasingly altering the Earth’s surface, and affecting processes that shape and 5 reshape landscapes. In many cases, humans are reacting to landscape-change processes that 6 represent natural hazards. Thus, the landscape is reacting to humans who are reacting to the 7 landscape. When the timescales for landscape change are comparable to those of human 8 dynamics, human and ‘natur...

In this paper we study the properties of ten halo globular clusters in the nearby spiral galaxy M33. CCD images of M33 were obtained as a part of the BATC Colour Survey of the sky in 13 intermediate-band filters from 3800 to 10000Å. By aperture photometry, we obtain the spectral energy distributions (SEDs) of these globular clusters. We estimate the ages of our sample clusters by comparing the ...
Strategic spatial planning, which is taken as an effective and competitive way for the governors of the city to improve the development and management level of a city, has been blooming in recent years all over the world. In the context of globalization and informatization, strategic spatial planning must transfer its focus on three different levels: global, regional and urban. Internal and ext...
We demonstrate the realization of a hybrid solid-state quantum device, in which a semiconductor double quantum dot is dipole coupled to the microwave field of a superconducting coplanar waveguide resonator. The double dot charge stability diagram extracted from measurements of the amplitude and phase of a microwave tone transmitted through the resonator is in good agreement with that obtained f...
Photoinduced electron transitions can lead to significant changes of the macroscopic electronic properties in semiconductors. This principle is responsible for the detection of light with charge-coupled devices. Their spectral sensitivity is limited by the semiconductor bandgap which has restricted their visualization capabilities to the optical, ultraviolet, and X-ray regimes. The absence of a...
Shape recovery methods from an image sequence have been studied by many researchers. Theoretically, these methods are perfect, but they are sensitive to noise, so that in many practical situations, we could not obtain satisfactory results. In addition, we could not obtain the scale of the recovered object because of the imageprojection property. To solve these problems, we propose a shape recov...
This paper addresses the state estimation of a class of continuous-time affine systems with implicit outputs. We formulate the problem in the deterministic H∞ filtering setting by computing the value of the state that minimizes the induced L2-gain from disturbances and noise to estimation error, while remaining compatible with the past observations. To avoid weighting the distant past as much a...
Laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) has become a powerful tool for the direct analysis of a large variety of materials in order to provide qualitative and/or quantitative information. However, there is a lack of information for LIBS analysis of agricultural products. In this work a LIBS system has been designed for the discrimination of Ca, Cu, Fe, and Na elements in Gannan Navel orange...
We construct the first two continuous bloomings of all convex polyhedra. First, the source unfolding can be continuously bloomed. Second, any unfolding of a convex polyhedron can be refined (further cut, by a linear number of cuts) to have a continuous blooming.
