Insulinlike growth factor (IGF) is involved in the control mechanism of fetal and placental growth and development. The aim of this study was to examine the ...
OBJECTIVES Persistence of human papillomaviruses (HPVs) is necessary for cervical carcinogenesis. We evaluated incidence and duration of type-specific HPV infections and the influence of age and number of sexual partners. METHODS Data were obtained from 553 women (15-25 years), who were seronegative and DNA-negative for high-risk HPV (HR-HPV) types and were enrolled in the placebo arm of a ra...

PATIENTS AND METHODS Patients with abnormal vaginal cytology were divided into ...
The complete genome sequences of three novel Saimiri sciureus papillomavirus (SscPV) types (SscPV1 to SscPV3) isolated from the cervicovaginal region of squirrel monkeys were characterized. These three PV types share 78.1 to 83.3% nucleotide sequence identities with each other across the complete L1 open reading frame and cluster in the genus Dyoomikronpapillomavirus.
Cancer vaccine boost via the cervicovaginal rather than the intramuscular route of immunization appears to be crucial to induce genital CD8(+) T cells and tumor regression. This clinical activity is correlated with the ability of the mucosal boost to elicit resident memory T cells in the genital tract.
