Pseudomonas aeruginosa strain RB is a bacterium capable of synthesizing cadmium selenide (CdSe) nanoparticles and was isolated from a soil sample. Here, we present the draft genome sequence of P. aeruginosa strain RB. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of a draft genome of a CdSe-synthesizing bacterium.
High-performance hybrid solar cells (HSCs) based on P3HT : CdSe QD blends are achieved through post-deposition ligand exchange by n-butanethiol (n-BT) with a high power conversion efficiency of 3.09%. The mechanism by which n-BT modifies the surface structures of CdSe QDs and thus improves the HSCs performance is investigated.

Semiconductor cadmium selenide (CdSe) quantum dots (QDs) exhibited mirror-image circular dichroism (CD) spectra in the visible region (350-570 nm) after replacing the trioctylphosphine oxide/oleic acid ligands on achiral nanocrystals with D- and L-cysteines. A method for fabricating colloidal CdSe nanocrystals at low reaction temperatures was developed. The transition from CdSe clusters to continuously-growing nanocrystals was found to be crucial in the formation of high-quality quantum dots with narrow size distribution and efficient, tunable optical properties.
