Mining the data from large-plain text enhances the retrieval of information from resources. This paper describes about the automatic discovery of part-whole patterns from the texts using knowledge. The Parts are found by learning semantic constraints and linking documents to the knowledge-base. Knowledge Discovery in text is a potential method, which automatically extracts the concepts and conc...

This paper analyses the efficiency of venture capital and its impact on primary equity markets in France and Germany. It shows that venture capital operates according to the signalling model in France and according to the learning model in Germany. Only the learning model can serve as a rationale for government subsidies. In the signalling model, many young venture capital firms succeed without...

In this paper, we develop a finite volume element method with affine quadratic bases on right quadrangular prismmeshes for three-dimensional elliptic boundary value problems. The optimal H1-norm error estimate of second order accuracy is proved under certain assumptions about themeshes. Numerical results are presented to illustrate the theoretical analysis. © 2008 Elsevier B.V. All rights reser...

The titration alkalinity and total carbon dioxide concentration data obtained during the GEOSECS Expeditions, 1972-1977, in the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans have been summarized. The oceans have been divided into seven oceanic regions, and the mean vertical distributions of the alkalinity and total CO2 concentration have been computed. In addition, the vertical distributions of these qua...

Rapidly decaying kernels and frames (needlets) in the context of tensor product Jacobi polynomials are developed based on several constructions of multivariate C∞ cutoff functions. These tools are further employed to the development of the theory of weighted Triebel-Lizorkin and Besov spaces on [−1, 1]d. It is also shown how kernels induced by cross product bases can be constructed and utilized...

DNA double helices comprising two neighbouring artificial imidazole-Ag(I)-imidazole base pairs incorporate the Ag(I) ions in a cooperative fashion. Isothermal titration calorimetry data confirm the theoretically predicted binding stoichiometry and indicate that Ag(I) binds with association constants >10(6) M(-1) to the metal-free DNA duplex.

The irreducible bases in the icosahedral group space are calculated explicitly by reducing the regular representation. The symmetry adapted bases of the system with I or Ih symmetry can be calculated easily and generally by applying those irreducible bases to wavefunctions of the system, if they are not vanishing. As examples, the submatrices of the Hückel Hamiltonians for Carbon-60 and Carbon-...

We demonstrated a simple and green chemical method to obtain Michael adducts and their derivatives by using GO as a phase transfer catalyst with different kinds of bases in water and dichloromethane, and we also used GO multiple cycles almost without reduction in reaction yields.

Data used for training statistical machine translation method are usually prepared from three resources: parallel, non-parallel and comparable text corpora. Parallel corpora are an ideal resource for translation but due to lack of these kinds of texts, non-parallel and comparable corpora are used either for parallel text extraction. Most of existing methods for exploiting comparable corpora loo...

Introduction: Industrial growth, development programs and infrastructure projects, in spite of all the advantages and benefits to humans, has been considered as the source of many hazards, risks and failures. Risk assessment is the organized and systematic method to identify hazards and risk estimation for decisions ranking, in order to reduce the risk to an acceptable extent. The aim of this s...
